Best Final Fantasy Game?

My personal favorite is 6 (sticking with the Japanese numbering).

I think 3 (I am going with the NA system. ) is by far the best overall FF game.

Its a hard choice for personal favorite between 6, 9 which I want to be more awesome than it really is, and 1 which FF1 borders on classical lit for me.

Final Fantasy 6 is the best because of Kefka. That is all.

I've only played and finished 7,8 and 13. But I have also played 6, 9 and 10. Out of them, 7 was my favourite, although I will always love how shiny 13 was during it's pre-rendered cutscenes. I wished Square would make more movies, especially if it takes them about a year to make a FF game with the rate they seem to be coming out lately.

Most Final Fantasy games are at least decent imo, but I would say 3,4,6 7,9 and 10 are the my personal favorites in the series....yeah....I'm pretty indecisive.

and for extra points: my least favorite is the famicom incarnation of FF2

Final Fantasy IV. Much like FFIX, it really captures the spirit of what final fantasy is supposed to be about. To me, IV and IX are almost on even standing but IV just edges it out. I really loved the environments in IX (the town surrounded by a sandstorm and Alexandria really stand out) but I LOVE! the characters in ffIV. Cecil is my favorite ff hero and Kain is the perfect foil. The love triangle between Rosa, Cecil and Kain is fantastic. I love Golbez (fantasy Darth Vader) as well. The ending is quite emotional as well. So it really could go either way between IV and IX but I'm going to go with IV.

My favorite FF game would have to be FFXI. Feel free to hate but I enjoyed it the most. If XI is disqualified because it's an MMO, then I choose FFI because it holds a lot of nostalgia for me.

Final Fantasy 1, 4, 9, 10, and 10-2, are all equally tied as my favorite Final Fantasies.

6 does hold a special place in my heart, but not because I thought it was super great, but because of the opera scene.

Special mention to 5 for just being fun.

It makes me so happy to see so much FFIX love. Undoubtedly, that game has the best of everything in the series.

I also LOVE XII. It gets hated on a lot, but when you really look at Vaan, his character isn't the worst (his VA is, but that's a different story), it has overall some of the most bad-ass heroes (Ashe, Balthier, Basch), and villains (Vayne and Cid), it's narrative is so well done (yay, political intrigue), and I loved the battle system. Different enough to be a real change, but still a FF feel to it. Great music, great atmosphere.

A lot of what I love about XII is also present in Tactics. God, that's a good game.

Final Fantasy 6 because it has great overall aspects and goddamn Kefka is in it. Ohh and ULTROS.

Heck even Yahtzee liked it.

I would say 9 followed closely by 6. The plot in 6 was better IMO but the gameplay for 9 was much better (and the "blue magic" learning was the first that didn't suck).

I've only played I-V, XII, and XIII for any decent amount of time, though.

My favorite was 9, and despite what everybody I know thinking otherwise, I actually enjoyed the card game minigame.

That said, objectively, I think 10 was probably the best made, well rounded and most accessible.

Final Fantasy VI. VII was also good, but it ha a huge nostalgia factor for me, so I have to lower it's rating to compensate.

Tactics advance is my favorite. Tactics advance had the 3 act structure as well as a strategic game play style which combined enhance my gaming experience despite the graphics. Most final fantasy has the story telling bit but lacked a meaning and gameplay. oh yerh and the title "Final Fanatasy" actually fits the story of tactics advance.

I've played them all (not including the MMO's, and a few spin off's), but I still stand by Final fantasy VIII as my favourite one.

I really don't know what it was about it, but everything about the game just seems to click with me. The music, the Setting, characters, everything.

I'm also a fan of the fifth one as well, seeing that it has the best job system out of the whole lot.

To be quite honest though, the only final fantasy game (other than the first two due to sheer boredom) that I haven't played for a decent amount of time is final fantasy VI. Which i will soon rectify when I get it on the PS3 shortly.

OT: My favourite is 7 even though it has been completely abused and is no longer overrated due to the staggering amount of hate it gets I feel that neutralises the zealotical fans which you never see at least here.

The best Final Fantasy game is a VERY subjective opinion.

Me? FF9 is also my favorite in the series. Followed by FF7 in a very close second. FFXIII would be third, FFIV fourth, and FFX fifth.

Those are all the FF games I've played so far.
