I haven't made a thread in a long time, but I often have ideas for them that would work here on the escapist. Most of the time I either forget about them or realise they aren't as interesting as I originally thought. But I like this idea so here it is.
What is the best first enemy that appears in any video game you've played?
As in the very first one you have to fight or confront?
Try to add pictures if you can. To give a sense of how cool the enemy is.
And to avoid spoilers, please don't mention any boss fights that would spoil the story if it takes place in a sequel where said boss appeared in the previous game, or at least spoiler tag it.
I guess I would go for the first two-headed monsters from Hexen. They look as badass as most bosses do in a lot of modern games, I'm sure if they were rendered in modern day graphics, they could be pretty terrifying too. And they are the basic enemy throughout the whole game, and never do the ever seem to get any easier to kill.
