What Do You Think Is The Best FPS Out There?

Welcome to the Escapist.

Bioshock. Maybe Fallout 3. Everyone seems to love it but i'm yet to play it. It's sitting on the shelf, screaming play me.

Play it already!
CoD4. Fallout 3 is second. It would be closer, but Fallout 3 doesn't quite nail the "shooting at people outside of VATS" thing on the head.

I have now started. I haven't done anything else for about 3 weeks. So addictive. Let's find those Bobbleheads. Anyway - back to the Wasteland.

And the promise of continuing DLC on all platforms means that neither of us will be doing anything of note for the next few months!

Hasn't everyone been complaining about it being 360 exclusive - do I get to play it on PS3 now? I've been offline for a few weeks and may have missed a meeting.

What Do You Think Is The Best FPS Out There?

Could you please be a little less vague? I get the impression that you want ideas for games to buy (although I could be wrong), in which case it depends on what you look for in a game.
If you want storyline/plot, immersion, or just want to blast things to bits then we can recommend you some single-player games based on that. Or if you want a multi-player game then what kind do you want? Tactical and/or squad-based? Fast-paced deathmatches?

The former Xbox and PC exclusive content is going to be released on PS3 this summer.

Wow!!! not one mention of the most addictive fps ever. unreal tournament 3. especially invasion mod. i spent about 5 years playing this game. next would be cod4, nothing better atm.

Have to say HL2(and its Episodes) or TF2. Bioshock is fun, but not enough ammo. Also, HL3 and... DNF (little ahead of myself you say? not when you are from the FUTURE!)

System Shock 2 with the degradation of weapons, freaky ghosts, sweet selection of weapons upgrades, terminal hacking etc excellent game hooked for days. Bioshock was good but it was a bit dumbed down with a few things (underwater city no harpoon cannons!!!). Best of the Best for me is Half Life.
