I'm amazed how good the intro to Warhammer: Mark of Chaos is. Also the intro to DC Universe Online looks brilliant. What other CGI has impressed you in games?
final fantasy 13 had incredible CGI (shame that the other stuff was a dissapointment thoug)
and just looking at squares incredible standard at CGI i´m surprised they don´t go full force on movies. if they would put a bit more effort into scriptwriting they could make some awesome movies
<.< yea square PLZ just axe the final fantasy franchise and go make movies please (but do remember that there are recent square games that are quite good gameplay wise (kingdom hearts birth by sleep for example))
The CGI cut scenes in Silent Hill 2 where unbelievable and to this day still look very good.I know there mostly just for intros now but they where serious vehicles for storytelling at one point in history. It's amazing the progress that some games have made in story telling since then, and we've still only scratched the surface.
This topic just called out to me after playing some Mass Effect 2.
Blizzard's cutscenes are pretty damned awesome (the cinematic ones, not the in game ones), and the Mass Effect trailers are pretty damned impressive as well.
Blizzard has some pretty fucking awesome CGI scenes. An entire CGI movie of Blizzard quality would fuck my mind without consent and leave it crying on the pavement.
I generally prefer more stylized cinematics to straight up realistic CGI, but of all the trailers and cinematics I've seen recently, the ones from Blizzard have never failed to impress whether it be Starcraft 2 or even the World of Warcraft intro's, Blizzard know their stuff.
But everyone's probably not only seen that and either agree/disagree, having already made up their own minds about Blizzard.
Here's a game with some mind blowing cinematic and cutscene which seems to have been forgotten and is often overlooked. Good game too!
