In live in the UK, where today Gamestation started their "The Gamestation Elite" loyalty scheme, which awards XP for trading and purchasing games. I've already gotten some XP from getting Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Any other loyalty schemes you like?
More details on this can be seen at http://electronictheatre.co.uk/index.php/industry-news/6058-gamestation-loyalty-card-scheme-launched-today

There was one shop in Cheltenham called Game On. It had a buy 8 games and get your next one absolutely free. could buy any game and get any game free was pretty cool. But maybe I do spend too much on games.

Gamestop just instituted a Rewards program where you just get "points" for buying, trading, pre-ordering, etc. etc. etc.

Then you just use those points to buy things like gift cards or products. You need a fuck ton of points, but they seem to add up faster than I originally thought they would, and it seems like it won't be a total waste of time.

It's still kind of a work in progress though, so there are definitely bugs and stuff.

I'm surprised GameStation launched their own scheme, rather than rolling into GAME's scheme (I think it's £2.50 off for every 1000 points (£100 spent), with double points for pre-orders). Still, it seems like it'll be easier and more flexable than GAME's system. Shame that my local GameStation is puny compared to the nearby GAME.

Also, special note to Gamersgate. I don't know why they haven't made a big deal of them giving 5% worth of your purchuses back as store credit (or Blue Coins, to use the terminology).

So Gamestation instituted the B^Uckley idea of leveling-up in a game store?
That's what first came to my mind too. But I gotta admit this sounds like a freakin awesome idea. When I first read this comic I felt a bit ashamed for about 3 seconds when I thought Ethan was a genius but was only reaffirmed by Lucas.
