Lara Croft isn't the original badass female of gaming.. Samus predated her by almost a decade and had 3 kick ass games under her belt before anyone ever heard of Lara Croft.

Why do people vote for Samus? The fact that she's a woman has no impact whatsoever on anything! Her gender is a complete non-issue; they only decided to make her female at the end of Metroid to please fanboys!
