Just a little quicky thread. What are the funniest/weirdest glitches you've ever seen in a video game?
Mine actually happened about an hour ago, I was playing Red Faction: Guerrilla. In a big ol' dump truck, I drive through a 2-story EDF building. It's pretty well destroyed, but a large metal beam somehow impales my truck. For about 5 seconds I keep driving, then I notice I'm not actually on the ground. In fact I'm slowly spinning through the air, moving about 5 miles an hour, until I finally smash into another building. Because impaling a truck on a beam = antigravity.
Another one from the same game: on I believe it's the second mission of the first sector, you get a fancy armored car and have to drive into a bunch of sensor arrays. The whole way you're being pursued by about a dozen EDF cars, oddly enough none of which have turrets. So I hit a rock and flip the car, and am forced to get out. I start to run to the last sensor, hoping to finish the mission with my trusty sledgehammer. My brilliant plan meets its first roadblock when the first EDF car smashes me in the back and sends me flying. As I'm getting up, I get hit again. Before I can stand, another tire meets my spine. The cars keep coming, and coming, and coming. Within half a minute, I'm literally trapped under a pile of 13 EDF police cars, each of them trying to be as close to me as possible. I feel this is less of a glitch and more just lazy programming, I'm guessing that for that mission, the enemy AI are just trying to get as close to you as possible without actually shooting you or getting out of the car. It's an early mission, so it's understandable to give you "false danger." It took another 5 minutes until I could stand up long enough to chuck a explosive charge at one of the cars and die.
Honestly I see no problem with the occasional glitch, I have trouble being totally immersed in any game, and it usually just gives me a few laughs without seriously being a pain in the ass.
