The Crow. Also kinda liked its sequels.

Now, I used to be a heavy Goth, and insanely into the VtM scene online and in the area I lived in.. that shouldn't come as a surprise.

Other than that.. I dunno.. I don't tend to watch horror movies and alot of this kinda genre tends to step to far into that for me.

I would recommend the 1995 film The City of Lost Children, it's very much inspired by the Gothic/ Romantic movement but has an incredibly dark sense of humour about it. The scenery was very influential on BioShock but only in an art deco kind of way, none of the spirit of the game lives in the movie. Its got its violent moments, but they're pretty subtle, and in some ways it could be misconstrued as a family film, albeit a little darker like what The Dark Crystal was. Definitely check it out.

Hitchcock flicks. It may not seem like it at first, but those movies have a really, really dark sense of humor. That guy was fucking crazy, and I love him for it.

City of Lost Children is pretty amazing. For fun-campy/dark stuff I have to suggest Repo! The Genetic Opera. Don't expect too much from it just enjoy the well done dark scenery, the enjoyable yet campy songs and plot and it'll hand you a good time. So many people hate this movie because they anticipate a sincere production with a serious plot which is absolutely crazy. Pretty much it is like a dark nearly cyber-punk/goth graphic novel bred with rocky horror's little half brother who's slightly-removed granddad was phantom, resulting in Repo.

Besides, when else can you ever expect to see OGRE singing alongside paris hilton doing something much more akin to OGRE's scene than hers? Its like she was the one who "sold out" to underground industrial (not nearly as industrial I had hoped with cast/crew).

Does Pan's Labyrinth fit into this?

Or The Fall? Its pretty dark and depressing once you figure out what's going on.

Because if either of those work... Either of those.

If not, I agree with OP. A Clockwork Orange. Great movie, great book.
