Im trying to think of the best and funnest gun/sword/object in a game

Mass Effect 2's cain and the portal gun keep coming to mind but what about you

Gravity Gun wins hands down, closely followed by the Portal Gun.

Pretty much anything from the Ratchet and Clank games deserves a mention, too. My particular favourites were the Suck Cannon, the Morph-o-Ray, the Taunter and the Rift Inducer.

I said before it would be the portal gun (ASHPD) with full gravity gun capabilities. I'll add to that the needler from the Halo series and the DMR that will be in Halo: Reach, provided they make it act like it did in the beta and sound less like something I'd make from sticks, glue, and rubber bands.

Ew... I'd have to say the best gun is in my pants the portal gun. It teleports you from place to place without you having to die from atomic deconstruction (yes, if you step into an old fashioned teleporter you die and an exact copy of you is spawned on the other end. It's identical to you and has your memories but it is not you anymore).

[sub]I'm counting it because most of its attacks are projectiles and it counts as a gun ingame[/sub]

It's basically a suitcase that can transform into a bow that shoots explosive rounds, a bazooka, a laser cannon, a minigun, a bladed boomerang top, can open up into a blast of deadly light, and finally, can turn into a mountable hovercraft that shoots rockets.
