What is the best intro to any work you have seen be it the prologue, opening cut scene or intro FMV.

Any of the Fallout games. I just love the whole "war never changes" speech that is given.

I really liked the FFVIII intro sequence. Really showed you how epic the game was! Also the intro FMV for Bioshock is sick too.

Game: Half Life 2 (I'm so original) I'd say Bioshock, but Half-Life actually got better after the intro

Movie: Raging Bull: the opening credits are awesome, as is the whole movie.

Bioshock (1)

The quick ingame scene with the cigarette on the plane and then the chilling sound design around the crash and the motion graphic title... then the scripted swimming up from the wreckage to the surface and... *spash GASP GASP* ... "Oh shit, I'm playing!!!"

Then emerging from the cold sea into the lighthouse and bathysphere... Hehehehehehehhehe

I've only played the demo as of yet, but that intro blew my mind! It was so atmospheric, and just plain awesome!

I also have a special place in my heart for the Borderlands opening, because it so perfectly sets the tone for the entirety of the game.

Killzone 1 & 2 had really impressive opening scenes with Visari giving his epic speeches while everything goes to hell.

Bioshock had quite the opening, with the plane and all.
