I'm surprised Goldeneye hasn't been mentioned yet.
Most of the disney games back in the genesis/snes era were pretty good.

How the hell did we go 20+ posts with nobody mentioning

Goldeneye 007!!!
Wow, yeah. I'm disappointed in the rest of you guys. This game is often considered among the top 10, if not the top 5, shooters of all time. GoldenEye is my choice as well. Spidey 2 was good too.

shrek 2 was a pretty fun game, as was spider man 2.
then when i got older, i started to enjoy LOTR3 and the godfather game.
although there aren't really many good movie tie ins i can think of :p

I'll throw in my vote for Spiderman 2 as well because, haha, I just piledrived some guy off the top of the Empire State Building.

Then I saved a balloon, and it was AWESOME.

LotR games for PS2 and the newer Wolverine game. I usually hate hack 'n' slashers, but those games are fun as shit.

There were some decent ones back in the days of SNES. A lot more than there are now, anyway. I don't remember exact names, though.

Still, if it counts, my vote goes to the original Aliens vs Predator: http://www.gamerankings.com/pc/196582-aliens-versus-predator/index.html
The original AVP wasn't movie licensed. In fact none of them were. They were loosely based off of a comic book.

star wars: knights of the old republic?
That's an expanded universe title, not a movie license game, but I agree it was good.

With Spidey 2 taken, I have to say the Super Star Wars trilogy. They were hard and featured things not from the films, but they were fun.

i'm surprised nobody has mentioned the punisher yet! a pretty well done third person shooter, but with the added bonus of torturing people! i'm not a nutter...

however like OP said, the best would probably have to go to spiderman 2 for me, but LOTR:ROTK has an honorable mention. the tower mode was pretty damn fun, and the fact that THE WHOLE FREAKIN GAME can be played in co-op, just sealed the deal for me ^^

The Godfather. The story was pretty good and the gameplay was fun. Spiderman 2 and Reservoir Dogs were also pretty good.

Goonies 2 for the NES
Followed by Batman Returns for the Sega Genesis

Why were they good, they were not released till long after the movies came out, meaning proper development times.

Did anybody else like that Ghost Rider video game? I thought it was actually pretty fun (I hadn't played God of War yet)

Yeah, I'd absolutely say it's a tie between LOTR: Return of the King and Spider-Man 2.

LOTR because it was just a damn fun game, where they just seemed to get everything right.

Spider-Man 2 because it completely changed what a Movie tie-in game could be. Also it kicked a whole lot of arse just swinging around the city.

Also I gotta mention Peter Jackson's King Kong, since that was just a damn good game. It kinda felt like a 1920s Turok, which is awesome.

007 Quantum of Solace is by far the best. The campaign is amazing and the music is classic. The multiplayer is original and is still one of my favourites to play with unique, fun game modes. It's gameplay is similar to Uncharted (without the climbing of course) and it's story ties Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace together in a really interesting way. Highly recommend it if you happen to see it on sale.

EDIT: read all the posts up to this point and apperently no one played or remembered this game :(
