Wolverine Origins was a good one, except for the final boss fight. Like the movie thats where it fell apart.

Goldeneye on the N64, dated graphics by todays standards, but it is as solid as they come.

The only favourite movie base game I can remember is Hook which was a fun side scroll despite being hard later on (yeah I don't play that many movie base games at all).

Goldeneye 64 - i've to agree.

No movie related game made me dump more hours into it than that pearl of gaming history.

Oh wow, I haven't played that in years. I need to try to find a copy somewhere. Two Towers was also pretty good, but it feels kind of clunky compared to RotK. (Or what I remember of RotK, anyway)

The absolute best would probably be Spider-Man 2. Not only is it a genuinely great game, it doesn't fall in the common trap of completely glossing over the movie's story. Doc Ock still gets a ton of build-up, and you still get the "Should I be Spider-Man or Peter Parker" dilemna, just presented differently.

Agreed, I loved this game, especially the playing-as-Kong sections.
And Spider-Man 2, of course.

Jaws Unleashed was pretty damn awesome. I think it counts.

I mean... you're a shark that eats people? How cool is that...

You fight Killer Whales, Giant Squid, and even those evil rape loving bastards known as Dolphins.

The thing I really liked about that was Black Cat's involvement. She raised some really good points for Peter about whether or not being a superhero was worth it. Plus, her missions were the most fun in the game.

Exactly. Using Black Cat was a really clever way to get around the "Spider-Man no more" thing while still presenting the same character arc.

Heh, though I'll never forget how hard her missions were the first time I ever played it. I still hadn't really gotten the hang of web-swinging, so following her was like this huge trial & error ordeal. Now I can keep up with her so easily that I almost want her to move faster.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine for me.

It was everything the movie should have been: bloody, visceral, uncompromising in it's violence.

Other than that, I actually quite liked Spider-Man 3; it was the sheer size of the Manhattan area that you could explore that endeared me. Of course, Spider-Man 2 was better, I just liked Spider-Man 3 as well.

Star Wars Episode I: Racer

Seriously.. it was one of the most entertaining things to be taken out of any movie and put into a game.

This. I played and replayed it over and over again. Also if I may add Star Wars Revenge of the sith was also pretty good from what I remember.

Spiderman 2 is the only game I've played that got close to making you genuinely feel like a superhero.
Yup, same for me too. If the PC version wasn't so gimpy I'd still play Spider-man 2 to this day. Thankfully I still make do with the equally awesome Ultimate Spider-Man.

Escape from Butcher Bay is probably the best one.

But the one I really LOVE as well is The Punisher (2005). It came out the same year the movie did and it was voiced by Tomas Jane who voiced Frank Castle in the movie, but the game itself was actually more true to the comics in character design, and story didn't follow the movie either. But it was a movie licensed game for some reason.

It's an amazing third person shooter with some really cool game mechanics, an addictive points system for killing people and an amazing soundtrack. Guns are awesome, shooting feels so good, threatening and beating people up for information and points is also a lot of fun, and there are lots of cool Marvel hero cameos like Black Widow and Iron Man (a lot more). I must have replayed that game more than a dozen times. I was blown away. I can't believe the game was THAT FUCKIN' GOOD! It got poor to average reviews for some reason. I got it for $10 but I'd rather give $60 for that game than for half the games coming out these days.
If you're a fan of Punisher and you didn't play this game, you owe it to yourself. And if you aren't a fan, you should still play it because it's good. It's old, yes, but if you have a working PS2, Xbox or a PC that was made after the dinosaurs died out, chances are you can play it.

Now listen to this incredible theme ladies and gentlemen:

I really enjoyed the Godfather Game, mainly because I love that era, and the acting was fantastic, and it really felt like the movies.

I liked Spider-Man 3, too. To be honest, I'm not really all that sure why it gets such a bad rep. It's certainly not perfect. The boss fights are clunky, there's too many trial & error QTE's, and I guess I can see why people would say the combat is too button mashy, though it never really bugged me personally. It also drops the ball in the story department. Earlier in this thread I was talking about how well Spider-Man 2 adapted the movie's story, SM3 doesn't even come close.

I kind of got the impression that Treyarch just wanted to do their own thing, and was then forced to shoehorn the movies story into the script at the last second. That's not to say I don't enjoy some of the villains and their miniature story arcs, but the movie's storyline is practically non-existent.

But as a whole, I liked SM3 just fine. Even moreso than Ultimate, which had a fanf****ngtastic story but was kind of lacking in the open-world department, in my opinion. And really, that's where the replay value lies.

Now, the WII/PS2 version, on the other hand...

Shrek 2 for the Nintendo Gamecube.

It wasn't really a GREAT game, but it was a pretty fun co-op Shrek game that you and some friends could blow through in a while.

I really enjoyed it, and I didn't think that I would.

The Godfather is a very awesome game indeed. The Godfather 2 is also fun, but it is a lot less fun than the first one. EA fucked up as usual.
Scarface: The World is Yours is another one that really stood out. Hell, It's better than the movie.

I'd also like to say another thing about Escape from Butcher Bay. I would go as far as to say that it is one of the best action/adventure games ever made. It has all the necessary ingredients for a great game. I don't think any of us expected it to be any good at all. And then it ended up being one of the best games ever released on Xbox (I still played it on PC). Screw the movies, Vin Diesel should make more Riddick games.
