Dear god, the entire ending scene of A Few Good Men where Jack Nicholson (playing the bad guy, Colonel Jessup) and Tom Cruise (playing..... well, let's face it, Tom Cruise) face off in a military court of law. The writing for the whole scene is just perfect, as it builds up the tension to the critical moment flawlessly.

A totally perfect scene...

Now I'm going to speak about one film in perticular because it's simply my favorite and in my opinion one of the better films made in the past some decades, Collateral by Michael Mann:

1.The sudden silence when Max closes the cab door to hush out the noise of the garage
2.Max and Vincents First conversation in the cab, especially the lines about the guy whom gets on the MTA and dies and no one notices
3.The Alley scene/shootout ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAdibdxZ9zg )
4.All the scenes in the Jazz club from the opening of it to the assassination of the owner (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzlAebP5Fzg )
5. Max Meets Felix ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rpo9V4RjBEs&feature=related )
6. The conversation between Max and Vincent along with the passing of the Coyotes ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HkVmRYxU4c )
7. The Night Club scenes/shootout ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUFdFYVSin4&feature=related )
And the aftermath of the shootings ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjYlLTVqlzY&feature=related )
8.Vincent hunting Annie in the Law firm after Vincent cuts the power and the building goes quiet and dark as he stalks her through the building
9.The climax of the film ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4b8hcdcMw9I )

Yes I know I'm practically jerking off to this film but I love it so much, the fact that the whole story takes place in a single night, the conversations between Max and Vincent, the slick and brutally efficient gun play, The characters are interesting and rich, and the it's all so finely played and scored and shot I can't help but gush over it.

Pitch Black one of my favourite movies
When Carolyn steps aside and we see that Riddick did come back for them.
That and the dude with the umbrella getting ripped apart

The "To the pain..." conversation in the Princess Bride was pretty brutal.

In The Shingin when you find out all he's been writing all that time is 'All Work And No Play Makes Jack A Dull Boy'

And the entirety of Saving Private Ryan. That's simply one of the most devastating movies in cinema history.

as far as "Non-Climax Best Scenes in Movies" go, this is definitely the best.

me and my sister still laugh at that scene, can replay it in our heads on a whim.

Its stuck close to us for years

on a related note, 90% of these are just movie climaxes... those are the easiest "best moments" to bring up.

True Romance. When Hopper first refuses the cigarette as he has quit and as the scene progresses he changes his mind, lights up and gets one last insult in...

Near the ending of Sunshine, where Capa seperates the ship from the payload and jump from one to the other. The music made that one...

th whole of the the swedish film "Let The Right One In" is an amazingly well-done movie. No Favorite Parts, all amazing! It's the only thriller I've enjoyed, besides zombieland, and the shining.
