I've been wanting to get a good legal downloading program for some time now, but I don't know which one to go with. Itunes is always the big one, but I'm not sure about it. Rhapsody has a good selection as well. But I also want DRM free songs. Anyone have some suggestions on good places to buy MP3s? Amazon or Itunes or whatever? Which is the best, do you think?

Torrents and torrent accessories.

Utorrent is my favorite program.

Isn't that file-sharing, not actually buying the stuff legally?
Then go to a music store! I misunderstood the question. I don't pirate stuff. Who me? Never.

lol, sorry. But CDs are a pain to buy when all I want is maybe one song off the album. And yeah, I could go to download.com and get whatever file-sharing program, but I'm just tired of doing it.

LEGAL?! I think you're in the wrong place. This is the internet, pal.

Are ouy just against pirating stuff or is utorrent too slow? Cuz if it's too slow then just try to find RAR archives of audio files. It's very fast.

And if you don't like pirating, then you're pretty much out of luck.
Ehhhh...I'm not against it. My general belief is if there is a legal way to get the song that is DRM free and good quality, then I will pay you for that service, no problem. But if there isn't (for example, pretty much 90% of the anime songs I want to have), then screw you, I'm going to get it whatever way I can.

Torrent's just something I never got into. Too confusing back when I first heard about it.

It also depends on where you are in the world. For instance I can legally use filesharing all I like because I live in Canada and sharing is not illegal.

Personally I use a mix of itunes and filesharing. If there's a bunch of music I like listening to but is just okay, torrent. If it's only one song off an album or something, then I buy it off itunes. But I generally do not like all of the songs on a CD, and more often than not, I only like one or two, so buying the CD is like paying $25 for two songs. No thanks.

I also find it ridiculous that there's only a big uproar about people sharing music and such since it became so easy to do with the internet and media files. Back when it was just copying a cassette they didn't like it, but sort of turned a blind eye because it didn't bite into their huge profits. (The record labels, I mean)

I ADORE this site! Thanks so much for pointing me to it! I just made my playlist yesterday and it's already got 60 songs on it. I made a video game playlist too (also hitting 60 songs).

I'd stay away from all kinds of limewire. It's nothing but corrupt music files, viruses, and porn.
Ah yeah, that's the other thing. Back when I was doing the limeware and others thing, I did end up with loads of crap and viruses. Somehow, with all the crud in my school comp, it still managed to run without a problem.
