In my opinion, Battlefield Bad Company 2 is the best Multiplayer game, Teamwork is the only thing that leads to victory.

You didn?t specify icompetitive multiplayer, so I?m going to cast my vote for co-op in Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2. Beyond a beautiful single-player campaign, the game shipped with 19 massive and detailed multiplayer maps (with 2 more available to download for FREE) and a 6 mission co-op campaign that was amazing. It was the most any single Xbox game I?d ever purchased came with right out the gate. This was BEFORE day one/trickle down DLC, season passes and the community was the most mature (read: ?non-racists/sexists/general assholist?) I was privy to, before or since; I made a lot of friends out of strangers playing that game. Co-op required true cooperation and strategy, communication beyond ?you go that way, I?ll go this way;? lone wolves almost always got murdered. Le sigh, I miss that game?

Metal Gear Online 2 (MGS4's online). You can still play it because fans brought back the game on fan-run servers and there's more players than MGO3 (MGS5's online). MGS4 still sets the bar for TPS controls; the aiming is perfect with no fucking AIM-ASSIST, there's no blasted melee or grenade buttons, the patented MGS CQC is great, you can underhand grenades, you can lean, there's a proper shoulder swap, and you'll never die because of the controls doing something you don't want because there's no contextual controls whatsoever. The game also features no health regen, balance that is just a smidgen short of perfect, the game modes are plentiful and great (Team Sneaking being the best game mode ever), there's custom rooms, and there's a level system based on skill so the game can actually matchmake even teams if it has to. Lastly, the MGO2 community coined "git gud" [http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/git-gud] and you're supposed to put "n3" (no name noob) after it if you're doing it properly (so "git gud" at using "git gud" Dark Souls community) and the game is really hard because it's extremely skill-based due to being a high-health shooter where headshots win gunfights because body shots take a LONG time to kill someone, which also means camping is neither a legit or effective strategy if you spray 'n' pray.

I'm partial to the Valve games... Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead 2.

Jedi Academy had multiplayer? That's news to me.
It did and as far as I know, it still has a small number of people playing it (mostly the Movie Battles mod).

I tried it a few times way back, but got absolutely trounced by people who actually understood the ins and outs of the lightsaber combat (skill ceiling's quite high and the SP does a piss poor job of teaching its mechanics). Still fun tho.

I know Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight had multiplayer and I actually used to play that back in the day. It was one of the few multiplayer games I played online. I only liked to participate in sabers only matches which amounted to people running around randomly swinging their sabers at each other. Good times.

For me, I'd say Overwatch... if the team plays as a team. Then again, I'm definitly not an online gamer, so my experience is veeeery limited.

Even so, I' ve got to hand it to Blizzard. They know how to get me into genres I usually stay far away from.
Other than Overwatch I dipped into some co-op stuff like Vermintide and Payday 2. Both fun as well, if you get a crew that works together.

I think Call of Duty World War 2 is a truly amazing multiplayer feature game which takes you to play the game again and again.

Difficult to say but perhaps Crash Team Racing. Although its rare now due to life getting in the way we still play it on occasion nearly 20 years later and we all still have a blast. Really dont know how much we have played that game throughout the years. Its also one of if not maybe the only game where one of us is not so much better than the others it makes the result a near forgone conclusion which helps keep it interesting.
