Two other guys and I have gotten board with Diablo 2 at our LAN party. We are looking for some more games to get addicted to. Co-Op is preferable, but really anything that is cool for 3 guys with 3 computers is fun. Older games are better, only one of my computers is able to run the newer games. So, any suggestions on fun games for us to play?

I always just played any of the RTS's out there usually the C&C games as they are pretty simple. Other than that um, yeah I don't know any PC Co-op games, NWN maybe.

Serious Sam co-op is a damn good suggestion, though some people I've tried to LAN it with didn't find it literally 'Serious' enough. Shame, because it's FUN.

Warcraft 3 User Map Settings maps can be fun, tower defenses, hero defenses (MooMoo!), RPGs and of course the ever-popular DotA.

System Shock 2 (must be patched to latest version) does three player co-op, though I've had this crash now and then when attempted.

If only you all had L4D-capable PCs... :)

Well first off master if you are looking to upgrade your computer for cheap check out Eggo's thread on building your own computer so you can have a top of the line system.

As for LAN games there are always the RTS games that most people have fun with like Warcraft and Starcraft.

...wait co-op games...wow I actually have no idea. Neverwinter nights is good if you like the D&D games but never really wanted to sit down and make your own story but that has already been mentioned.

You don't know jack is a good trivia game cd game but you only need one computer to play that. And I'm trying to not mention FPS because they are FPS.
Actually the problem isn't MY computer I DID custom build my own PC and it rocks, I can max every game on the market in HD other than Crysis. The problem is my friends computers... lol... they have been less blessed by the computer Gods then I. Thx for the sujestion though!

Age of Empires 2 with custom settings. I believe you can set star cash way up and instant build. We used to play those games at lunch during high school and had a blast doing it (even the physics teacher joined us).

C&C Generals, if you can all run it, is an amazing co-op experience. Once WMD's hit the field the game gets very interesting and airstrikes make the game crazy throughout.

Quake in any form is great for co-op, I was always partial to Quake 3: Rocket Arena.

For lower specs I would also suggest some Team Fortress Classic, Counter Strike 1.6 (Source is preferrable and not that graphically demanding), Unreal Tournament at whatever range of graphics you can play at the original is still amazing.

HL mods offer a large range of game types from Natural Selection to Sven Co-op. Just get steam and buy a bunch of cheap old games...

Hell, I still pop in Warcraft 2 on occasion. The custom map tools are easy and you can make some fun stuff even though the gameplay is dated. Starcraft would be a better option if for no other reason than it's more popular.

Left 4 Dead is your best current-gen bet. Buy it. Buy it NOW!!!

Other than that, I've honestly got nothing that hasn't been said.

Left 4 Dead*IS* the Co-Op game! The only downside is that is a bit short, BUT its from valve so its bound to have a big update(some day cause its Valve we talking about) and a big and great modding community. Unless you buy for the 360.

But Left 4 Dead is a great multi-player game and it will give you alot of fun-happy shooting zombies hours till you completly bored.

I'd just like to add another shout out to Serious Sam. Or more accurately, Serious Sam:The Second Encounter. Pure fun, which is the aim of the gathering, yes?

If you fancy strategy, you can't really go wrong with Company of Heroes. If that older PC can't run that, go for Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War. You can get a box set with all it's expansions for very cheap now.

Left4Dead IS awesome and so are all the Worms games right before it went all 3D and shit.

You guys have been a BIG help, thx a ton!

I think I'm going to try System Shock 2, Serious Sam, and if it will run on the older comps Left 4 Dead this week.

Any more ideas are still appreciated.

I usually play Dawn of War or Sins of a Solar Empire which takes pretty long to get through sometimes, but always fun with friends.

well, try L4D for the teamwork and why not counterstrike for the humiliation of eachother.
Team fortress 2 anyone?
