Majora's Mask

It's surprisingly dark in places. I can actually commend Nintendo for lightly touching on several adult topics (inevitability of death, regret, fear).
It's also a spectacular game to boot.

A few people already mentioned Mystical Ninja. I really enjoyed that game and played it to heck when I was a kid. Maybe it's not so good today but at least it still has kickass music. I should also mention Goemon's Great Adventure, or Mystical Ninja 2. It's a traditional platformer instead of a Zelda-like adventure game, but the gameplay was really fun and challenging, and the music is even more kickass than before (albeit very Japanese). Here are some examples:

I'm going to be predictable and say Super Mario 64, followed closely by Super Smash Bros.

I never really got into Ocarina of Time.

Ocarina of Time. It's a boring choice, but it can't be helped; it just is such a perfect game in every way possible.

Perfect Dark, by far, was the best.

I've had the most fun with Starfox 64 and Turok: Rage Wars, but Perfect Dark was the best designed game the N64 had. It pushed the limit in level design, storytelling, dare I say 'graffix' and split-screen multiplayer.

Seriously, the multiplayer was basically "Goldeneye but improved in every way."

Actually, the game itself was like that, but Goldeneye was obviosuly more revolutionary. This was just more of a squeaky-clean polished version of Goldeneye. As a matter of fact, Wikipedia says it's the spiritual successor to Goldeneye.

N64 Gamer gave Perfect Dark a score of 101% and despite a box out section of the review explaining why, the reviewer and the magazine became a subject of ridicule in other Australian gaming magazines, even today. Their excuse was that they had previously given Super Mario 64 100% and Perfect Dark was better than Super Mario 64, so they really had no other choice.

Ocarina of Time, Starfox 64, Banjo Kazooie and to a certain extent Tooie, >>>>JET FORCE GEMINI<<<< Super smash brothers Brawl, Mario Cart 64, Majoras Mask, Conkers Bad Fur Day. PERFECT DARK :D That game was amazing on so many levels...

WHY HAS NO ONE SAID RAYMAN 2 :(((((((

TBH all of these games are just pure awesome.
I think you're a bit off with that one.

On topic, I have no idea. I mean, I love so many 64 games that I just can't choose. Hell, I still consider the 64 as my favorite console.

"The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" is really the only acceptable choice here, imo.

Either PErfect Dark or Turok 1

I'd say Golden Eye, but Perfect Dark did everything better so it gets the pick...

Perfect Dark is THE game I spent the most time on while playing my N64.

Ocarina of Time was also awesome

Goldeneye if you have a friend.
Super Mario 64 if all your friends play xbox all day and have never heard of local multiplayer.

Its practically citable fact that Ocarine of Time is the best game. Not my favorite though. My favorite is Mystical Ninja starring Goemon. It turned me into the Japanophile I am today.

Conkers Bad Fur Day. They need to make a sequel to that, and not mess it up like they did with Banjo Kazooie.

Also, Ocarina of Time as my 'obvious choice'.
Conker: Live and Reloaded was supposed to be a sequel, then it was supposed to be a completely uncensored version of Bad Fur Day. But... then it became the pussy version, blocking out even the word "ass"...

They set bad Fur Day up to have a sequel too, what with him taking the opposite route home as he did at the beginning of the game, so he could have wandered drunkenly into another new land.

But I agree, OoT and Bad Fur Day were without a doubt the best games. I still play both, honestly. Especially BFD multiplayer when friends come over.

Oh I ment the original super mash bro's. The brawl one wasn't anything special ;/
True, but Melee was friggin' amazing. I remember the old Smash Bros... eight characters, horrible, blocky characters, and great fun for months straight. I loved it xD
