This an argument I've been having with myself for a long time. Which company has made the most high quality RPG's. Bio-ware have made allot of good stuff. Bethesda has made allot of really good stuff. Blizzard pretty much popularized the genre with Diablo. It's an argument i want to share. feel free to mention any other company I've skipped out on.
Edit: I forgot to mention Silicon knights.
Edit: I just noticed all the recent big name western RPG developers name starts with B. Maybe there some kinda recent conspiracy that's yet to invade the Japanese market

Well, BioWare have made three of my favourite games, (KOTOR, Mass Effect and DA:Origins) so I am naturally inclined to say they are. They have had some of the best stories, best dialogue and some pretty damn good gameplay.

Troika RIP :(

I'm not sure I'd put Bethesda anywhere even in my top 5 to be honest. Now if this were best rpg world builders however, they might nab the top spot.

Well it's also too huge a genre. Torchlight(Diablo etc.) and Mass Effect shouldn't be in the same category they are very different games. Add to this the idea that Fallout and Morrowind are in there with them. And they are all meant to be the same? Ridiculous. Each Dev has their style and those should be seen seperately.

OT: BioWare. With an Honourable Mention to Troika as above.

I really like Bioware because I have loved playing Kotor, ME1&2, and Dragon Age. I have only recently started playing PC games, so eventually I plan on trying Balder's Gate out. Also I am really excited for TOR.

I think I am a Bioware Fanboy...

If I had to choose just one, it'd have to be Bioware. I enjoy most of the games they've made, and they have yet to disappoint.
However, there are plenty of other worthy developers out there whose games I enjoy playing but Bioware just makes the kind that I enjoy the most

Id haft to go with Intelligent Systems purely because of the good amount of different Game Styles they have worked with and because iv enjoyed every IS game iv played.

Squaresoft, without a doubt. But if you mean RPG rpgs, that's tricky.

BioWare made Mass Effect, one of the best games I've ever played, but they also made Dragon Age, which... isn't so good, in my opinion.

Bethesda made Morrowind, which is always a classic to me, Oblivion, which is pretty good, but they also made Fallout 3, a sequel to games made by another game company, and I can't stand it when developers sequel games they didn't make. The sequel never feels like the same game.

Blizzard made World of Warcraft, but... that's it.

I can't decide really. But if I had a gun pressed to my head and was forced to decide, I'd hurriedly blurt out BioWare.

None, since I don't consider Bioware an RPG developer (I think thier more like novelists), Square Enix used to be my top, but then they made Final Fantasy 13.

Edit: Blizzard if I must have one, but I don't think of them as an RPG developer either since I became a fan of thier's because of Starcraft and the original Warcraft.

I hate to be a conformist, but I've pretty much played every Bioware game to date sans Baldur's Gate. Hell, they even got my sister into gaming.
