Everyone has a "best song ever" they love to listen to...

the purpose of this thread will be for everyone to say their's,

hopefully a lot of people will learn about new bands and get a new favorite song.

Note: no dissing on peoples choices or saying things like "blank isn't even a real (genre) band."

This is all completely opinion.

If everyone wants to start finding the best go ahead but this is mainly a "here's my favorite,
what's yours?" thread.

My personal favorite is "Save Me" by Avenged Sevenfold.

I suppose it would count towards the Alternate Metal/Metal genre.

P.S. you can post as many songs as you want I'm just choosing to post one.

Pantera - Cemetery Gates
Jose Gonzales - Far Away (From Red Dead Redemption)
Ashtar Command - Deadman's Gun (From Red Dead Redemption)

To say that's all my favourites would be a damn lie. But it's the first songs that jump into my head when someone asks what my favourites are.

Before you read any, just know there are gonna be a lot of songs put on here and description of each. I love music and these are some songs I feel everyone should hear. Metalhead, old rock, punk rocker etc.
Amazing energy, good sing along chorus and an amazing refrain into the final verse at the end. If I had wrote this song, I'd be my encore song at every concert and I'd blast the tempo up. It's basically Coheed and Cambria's Freebird.

I absolutely love the lyrics. I love the refrain in the middle of the song with the clapping. I love it's minimalist nature in the middle of an album built on big.

This is the power ballad to end all power ballads. If it wasn't for Led Zeppelin, I'd say this is the first real power ballad. (Stairway sounds more like an epic piece than a straight crowd pleaser.) I love the energy Steven Tyler puts into this song and it's almost depressing but is saved by the joy Steven puts into screaming "Sing with me, sing for the year."

I love this song. The riff has to be taken straight from the God of Metal himself. The first song I heard from Megadeth was Hangar 18 from GH2 and I bought this album on a whim. This song blew me away because up until that point metal had been Black Album and Radio-friendly metal. The solos are insane and I really like the lyrics.

No list would be complete without Queen and while most people would probably put Bohemian Rhapsody, I feel this song, as a whole, is more cohesive and more together than Bohemian. It starts off with a simple piano intro and then Freddie's legendary vocals takes over the songs while Brian's guitar gently adds to the whole symphony of sound that makes this song amazing. Competes with Under Pressure for best Queen song other than Bohemian Rhapsody.

Rolling Stones - No matter how much I move away from traditional and old rock n roll this song will forever stay a favorite for me. All the instruments add together perfectly and the idea of making into a samba is probably what made this song so amazing. When he guitar solo at the end comes I don't feel like I was waiting for, but it is certainly welcomed. While not overly intricate, the notes aren't squandered, nor are they overused. It's a fantastic little hook that adds together fantastic and slightly insightful lyrics delivered from Mick are spot on for the song, definitively not sounding like Rubber Soul.

While Foo Fighters doesn't boast extreme guitar chops, fantastic vocals or anything that would distinguish it as a band of extreme skill it does have one thing. Dave Grohl knows how to write a fantastic and catchy song. He took the right elements, the song is fast, but not too fast. The refrain in the middle separates the choruses so it keeps it seeming fresh every listen through. The lyrics are a beautiful love song that captures the ear upon listening and is the highlight of the album.
