Depends -
For everyday life: English
For epic fantasy drama/opera: German
For huge over the top fights: Japanese
For getting worked up about stuff: Arabian
Nice list and I agree with it. :)

But for me I would probably vote for russia. I don't know. It just sounds poetic and still so sharp if needed. Its like french and italian mixed together.

Gaelic. Incredibly difficult language, but darn, it just sounds good.
Oh, absolutely agreed.
Gaelic is great, if only I could find a way to learn it here...
...or at least learn how to pronounce the darn writing!

Music:
Techno/Trance: German
Rap/Hip Hop: English
Pop/Metal/Alt: English/Japanese
Gospel/Classical/Opera: Latin
Soul: Some dialect of African that I couldn't properly research which shall remain unnamed.

My native language is English, but unless it's in music, I don't quiet fancy any other language. If English is suppose to be the hardest language to learn then I'll humor myself more intelligent for sticking with it.

Arabic sounds coolest, Mandarin Chinese has the best flow in my opinion. Oh, and an honourable mention in both categories goes to the Inuktitut languages.

Depends. English sounds very everyday-like, French is romantic, Swedish is rough, German is blunt and Japanese is mystical.

Me? I'm Swedish.

I like language in general, so even when there are some that I think sound quite harsh (German or Russian for example) they still have wonderful phrases or sentence construction which I find great to listen to.

But of course I'm biased into liking English a lot, even though it may not be quite as musical as other languages, or have much of a rhythm without significant thought behind it, when someone's put together a good sentence or a brilliant wordplay it just sounds so great to me.

I acknowledge fully that this is because if someone were to construct a wordplay in any other language I wouldn't understand it, but hey, I don't like learning other languages.

Portuguese or Irish Gaelic for different reasons. Portuguese is fluent and can be very sexy. Irish Gaelic is just eight shades of awesome, but not really sex in my opinion.

My first language? Umm... Spanish, Dutch and English? I think in English, was raised in Dutch, but my nanny was Spanish. I can't really pick one since I started speaking all three at an age before my memories start.

While russian does sound interesting, I can't say much about it on account of not speaking a word, and since I'm busy learning Japanese from my boyfriend, and teaching him what little arabian I know, neither us can be asked to bother ;)

Does Elvish from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings count? If not, my vote goes for Russian. I just love the sound of Russian. I think it might be the accent that does it for me.
I agree on the Russian it sounds damn awesome.

(This is a guess tell me how wrong I am) Icelandic! Something something best language something something.

I'd guess: Icelandic! It is obviously the best language in the world!

My mothertongue I guess would be French since my mother is French but my Dad is English so that'd be my first language. I'm better at English then I am at French.

Yes, yes, yes! Gaelic is brilliant! I can only say like two things: Slancha (not how its written but how its pronounced) it means something like cheers (when you clink glasses). Also Pog Mahoan (again not how its written but how its pronounced) which means ass hole (I think). It was brilliant one time when someone I met told me (in Gaelic) "May you be in heaven a whole half-hour before the devil knows you're dead". Sounded brilliant.

Gotta love that British English.

Just so long as it's spoken by smokin' British women.

Why, yes it IS a fetish of mine, thanks for asking.

That was darn close.

"Icelandic. It is undeniably the best language on Earth."

I think that English is the best-sounding language... At least if it's spoken with a British accent. I'm Swedish and I'm not a big fan of my language.

Shoot! I think I'm losing my ability to accurately guess what is said in foreign languages.

My mother-tongue is German, I'm somehow glad about it. I think it's a beautiful language.
Yep, every word he said is also true for me.
