Best-Sounding Language

For me, it's Afrikaans, it just sounds so awesome, lekker and kwai. It sounds rough, and hoarse and echoes South Africa's harshness perfectly. Many other languages sound more melodic and beautiful, but if I could speak one, it would be that. Although, thinking about it English is alot more useful.

Also, what is your first language? Mine is French, although I was soon taught English by my dad.

I'm totally biased against Afrikaans because I'm Dutch. To me, Afrikaans just sounds like a sillier version of Dutch, which isn't exactly a pretty language to begin with.

OT: Italian is my favorite language, at least when it comes to the way it sounds. I'm not very good at speaking it though.

japanese, any day. it just flows through your ears and its so easy to sound cute, scary OR dramatic when using it (which is, of course, a reference to anime) im thinking of learning it to the point of actually being able to form sentences (right now i only know how the language works and words like "hello" "thank you" "sorry" etc)

Hmm. Well as much as I love my two languages, I think Latin-American Spanish sounds very nice. It has really lovely intonation.
As for the languages I speak, I, like the rest of the world, am a native English speaker. Boring, but I like English. It's interesting. I know Japanese too.

I think that Russian sounds tough and burly. And a Brit speaking English just sounds captivating. But if you have a Russian speaking english? Magic happens.

Does Elvish from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings count? If not, my vote goes for Russian. I just love the sound of Russian. I think it might be the accent that does it for me.

Yes, yes, yes! Gaelic is brilliant! I can only say like two things: Slancha (not how its written but how its pronounced) it means something like cheers (when you clink glasses). Also Pog Mahoan (again not how its written but how its pronounced) which means ass hole (I think). It was brilliant one time when someone I met told me (in Gaelic) "May you be in heaven a whole half-hour before the devil knows you're dead". Sounded brilliant.

For everyday life: English Romanian, my own language
For epic fantasy drama/opera: German Japanese or Italian(can't make up my mind)
For huge over the top fights: Japanese German for the villain(don't call me racist, but there's something terminator like about the German language, that makes it sound tough and menacing)
For getting worked up about stuff a meaningful and sentimental idea across: Arabian Russian(don't call me a commie for liking me fellow comrades, even though I tend to be one sometimes)
