I like Half life and pretty much anything else made by Valve. So what is the best in your opinion mod for the source engine. Multiplayer or not.

Oh, I'd probably have to go with MINERVA. [http://www.hylobatidae.org/minerva/]

It's easily as good as anything that Valve itself has put out (indeed, the guy who made it actually got hired at Valve).

SourceForts hands down. I've never had as much fun in an online game.

Easily Garry's mod, for sheer fun value, that's why it has it's own user group [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Escapist-Gmodders].

Half Life 2: Research and Development [http://www.moddb.com/mods/research-and-development] is absolutely excellent. It is Half Life 2 but with new puzzles and minimal combat. You don't get any guns apart from the gravity gun, so you have to use your noggin'.

Single Player: Minerva or The Ship

Multi Player: The Hidden (also known as stay together and keep sharAAAAARRRGTGHH!!!!), Insurgency (if you can get it to work, like a modern day Day of Defeat) or NeoToyo.

All free, all extremely, extremely worth your time.

Dystopia [http://www.dystopia-game.com], a very well made team-based multiplayer mod with a parallel-levels twist, set in a Cyberpunk setting. I warmly recommend it.

Gmod by a wide margin simply for the ammount of mods you can stuff into it and the massive ammout of game modes there are one of my current favorites being a build and fight server called fortwars

Source games...I do know a non-source mod for Half Life which was very good (Brainbread). I'll probably have to go with something like Zombie Master or Zombie Panic.

Goldeneye Source. I have some problems with getting online and playing (something about map versions) but even just running through the different, beautiful levels as 007 brings me back to my fond memories of the N64.

Hurrah,someone else that loves Dystopia.
I agree that Dystopia the best source mod around.Only problem is how few people play it.
