They are useally frowned upon but without them we would probally be very different people

yes i'm talking about the TRANING LEVELS !!!

which games had the best training levels ?

mine

COD4: i actually felt like a recruit

LBP: The greatest tutorial ever

Sly cooper 3: it was just fun

Simpsons Hit n Run : Bart did alot of funny commentry

Oblivion: Very immersive

Gears 2 : it didn't feel like a tutorial which made it awesome

and thats as much as i can think of right now

so what are your greatest tutorials ?

Your grammar and punctuation are very chaotic. I suggest you consult a professional doctor before it's too late.

I think the best tutorials are for Photoshop CS3.

What? It's not in the Gaming Discussion, so it's any tutorial.

Two words: Bruce Campbell 'nuff said.
Bruce Campbell should do more voice over work. I always thought he would have made an excellent Nathan Zachary for Crimson Skies.

My favorite tutorial would probably be the one in Oblivion as it was an interesting way to see how you would REALLY respond to an in game problem. Unfortunately, I suspect that EVERYONE will come out as a "Knight" by the end unless they very specifically play in a certain way.

I'm gonna saaaay....Ghost Squad and Mario Kart Wii, just because they're the only two games I can think of off the top of my head that don't have tutorials at all. They just kinda say "well, y'know, here's your gun/kart, here's the shoot/accelerate button now go kill/overtake/gank some AI/friends! yaaay!"

Yeah, my general impression is that tutorials are for people who can't be arsed reading the instruction manual, unless it's for something which requires some form of skill or doesn't come with an instructions, in which case then, go hog wild with the tutorials. Spray them all over the place like some kind of liquid conffeti! Bloody Worms 4, the first 5 levels or so are just some whiny voiced twerp telling you to kill a bunch of AI guys that don't fight back. =P

Oh yeah, just read Abedeus's point, pretty valid actually, what with photoshop being nigh-impossible to fathom for the un-technologically minded like me.

Starcraft because it taught everyone the one thing that everyone needed and no one remembered until they started playing online. Attack-move.

Starting flame wars in your own thread?

Also, by calling someone a troll while doing that yourself maaaany times before is trolling.

Oh, and next time specify what kind of tutorial.

You both might read this:

Especially about "responding just to attack" is illegal, bad grammar is not welcomed, I also think there was somewhere something about not using 1-3 words like "Agree" or "This", as it doesn't contribute to the discussion.

Have a nice day.

to type like this

it is very bad grammar.

Little big planet's tutorials are great, mostly because of Stephen Fry, anything that man touches, or narates over, turns to gold.

On my first playthrough I came out a a Witch Hunter, which I promptly changed to a sneaking swordsman... thing.

My favourites must be Guild Wars (you learn as you play, instead of being shoved some menus with text on them). Also Silent Hunter III and IV. Each "tutorial" mission is presented as a training drill for sub commanders, which makes it very immersive.

Assassins Creed, was not a good tutorial, way to long. I liked the tutorial in Crackdown, mainly because it didn't have one. The whole game is the tutorial because you always learn new things to do.

I was gonna say something about a different tutorial but... damn, I had almost forgotten about the Spiderman ones and how much I loved those.
