Saying A guy got superpowers by radiation ok. I can accept that we don't know or it's fiction. How magnets work is not fiction, I can complain that they get that wrong as much as I want. You can't make up new laws for how magnets work,

For the last time because one is suspension of disbelief, and one is bad weighting. It's fine to say a guy got superpowers that he can control magnets, that is suspension of disbelief. But saying a magnet can I don't know cauterize a wound, is just the writer being lazy and making up superpowers.

If I may; I think I can see his point of view. Where I think he's coming from is, while he can accept the fact that Superheroes or super powered beings of any sort exist in comics, he is of the mindset that this shouldn't mean basic physics shouldn't apply anymore. (or something like that)

In that mindset having superheroes exist is more of a true or false fact. But as you've been aiming to point out, having superheroes exist also doesn't coincide with our laws of physics and what have you.

At least, that's my take on your little discussion. Maybe it helps, maybe it serves to annoy.
