Escapist is pretty decent. I put it down to the moderation. For the same reason I recall the DDO europe forum as being good because they had a zero tolerance policy and we were able to talk about the game and all the trolling and flaming was removed.
Worst - WoW forums. If I was considering joining that game I would take one look at their official forums and run away screaming. I suppose a lousy forum bothers me more when it is paid for (indirectly) and professionally run and still looks like a complete train wreck.
Rule 1 for a decent forum is to set down a moderation policy and stick to it. Anything else and you fall victim to the old equation of audience+anonymity=asshole.
