RE5 or L4D both awesome games and very enjoyable.

Apart from that try palying Dead Rising and some of the older Resident Evil titles. RE1 on the gamecube is awesome.

Don't take it personally. But vast majority of people just soak up anything Valve releases and hail it as the new savior, regardless if its just a new production mod of Half Life 2 or not.

Resident Evil hasn't had Zombies since before the 4th game, literally none. It's "parasite infected people" so you've got Left 4 Dead, Dead Rising, Dead Space(sorta), and ahh...Altered Beast.

I can give you a cheap alternative to a zombie game. You only have to do as follows.

a)acquire Counter Strike Condition Zero or a version that supports bots
b)start a local multiplayer match and set CPU number to max
c)make sure you state that CPUs can only use knives and that they join counter terrorist (if they join terrorist they'll go for the bomb planting)
d)enjoy the manhunt
e)believe me, it is a manhunt
f)watch your back
g)OH MY GOD THEY'RE BEHIND YOU!!!
h)you shall be mourned

extra tip: if you are a die hard fan of CoD5's zombie mode, try renaming all of the cpus "NAzi Zombie"
or Hitler, and relieve stress.

Yes, however, don't you enivitably (sry for my bad spelling, it's a tad off today) DIE in that mode? That kinda defeats the purpose doesn't it? That means the Nazi Zombies and Hitler wins! And we all don't want that

Depends what you're looking for. If you want a scary survival horror, get Dead Space. If you want excellent co op, get Left 4 Dead. If you want a more story driven game with big monsters and zombie dirtbikes get Resident Evil 5. However, if it's a zombie game you're looking for, Left 4 Dead or Dead Rising are your best bet.

Left 4 Dead, but only because it's the only "zombie game" I've played.

Though Left 4 Dead doesn't do horror very well, so I'd look for something else if that's what you're looking for in a zombie game.

The best zombie game is without a doubt House of the Dead 2. Not House of the Dead, and not House of the Dead 3, but House of the Dead 2.
