I will admit its a good thing but I once got invited to be a beta participant YEARS ago and I was so excited because I was one of the tiny amount of people who had been selected, admittedly I ended up not participating as I went on holiday but still, now that Beta's aren't as exclusive as they were im not so excited to be included in one, such as the Gears of War 3 Beta, im in it yet it doesn't bother me, in other words, I miss the feeling of excitement if you get me?Trivun said:Maybe, but is that really such a bad thing? Beats still give info and feedback straight to the developers, something demos don't, and didn't, do. So surely anything that gives better info to the developers that they can use to improve the game is worth it, no matter what it's called? If there are more people playing the betas of games, then that's more info and feedback, which means better games. Which benefits everyone.
It makes it stand out thoughDaystar Clarion said:Protip.
The apostrophe does not mean "holy shit! Here comes an 'S'".
Betas give massive amounts of data that would take years to find otherwise. If the game can be broken, betas will show this.
fair enough haha ill change it just for you XDyanipheonu said:OH GOD RESIST IIIITTTT
It's Betas not Beta's, unless you're talking about a beta having something >_> Yeah I know it's the internet and it's futile but damn that's a pretty bad mistake.
Betas aren't (watch there its right) there to make a few gamers get a vip-boner. They are made to test a game. And since most games developed now are made for (mass)multiplayer, you need a mass of people to test it properly.Eythan said:I will admit its a good thing but I once got invited to be a beta participant YEARS ago and I was so excited because I was one of the tiny amount of people who had been selected, admittedly I ended up not participating as I went on holiday but still, now that Beta's aren't as exclusive as they were im not so excited to be included in one, such as the Gears of War 3 Beta, im in it yet it doesn't bother me, in other words, I miss the feeling of excitement if you get me?Trivun said:Maybe, but is that really such a bad thing? I know that they are just to test but it was nice you know, I mean yes they still get everything tested as they should but it was nice to have that little extra you know? Thats true, I kinda wish they would bring out smaller games with Betas like they used to beFetzenfisch said:Betas aren't (watch there its right) there to make a few gamers get a vip-boner.
