Bethesda and Zenimax Announce The Elder Scrolls Online Release Date

Im expecting it to fail or at least be the second coming of TOR. I really enjoy the ES games and would have tried this had it not been subscription based, they really should have just done what GW2 did, I bought that and never even played it since I was too laggy to actually be able to play it anyway.

If they could have somehow put Elder Scrolls gameplay into an MMO, I'd be psyched. But no, it's just another cookie cutter MMO set in the Elder Scrolls universe. I'd rather have a co-op Elder Scrolls game.

Am I really the only person who plays Elder Scrolls games and doesn't think "You know what this needs? Random assholes I dont know messin with my experience" because it honestly feels that way when I see how excited people are for ESO.

Don't get me wrong. I love me some MMO's. I play WoW constantly. I play Champions sometimes. I'm one of the hundred people that actually plays and enjoys STO. I'm incredibly stoked to play Wildstar.

I just can't get into the idea of these sprawling single player games turnin into gigantic clusterfucks of other people.

I'd much prefer a co-op experience like Borderlands.

Skyrim/Fallout with 1-3 friends? That'd be something I'd like to see, assuming they did it properly.

yes this. i would have loved to see like 5-10 people in the game, but not a all out MMO. i love me some TES but i am not going to be playing the MMO version. Its in my list of games to play with very low priority and that means its just not going to happen.

The Single player entries in the series are going to continue. The studio developing this is Zenimax Online, not Bethesda Games Studios. The company has said that the numbered entries will continue to be made by BGS. This is just a spin off, like Redguard.
