It appears to have been massively influenced by Quentin Taratino... though for some reason, the music reminds me of some of the styling from No One Lives Forever (awesome game that nobody played).

And besides, the News Room articles probably have to go through all the appropriate channels before it actually hits the front page, no? There are a few threads and whatnot that contain info before the News Room does, but they are mostly copypasta jobs or not as well written.
