I could only see it working as a television series if it was less centered around specific characters, and more on the apocalyptic world as a whole, but that probably makes too much sense for them.
As I said before. Follow a vault dweller or a group of Vault Dwellers, starting off with them in the Vault and eventually moving outside. The plots sort of write themselves.

Have Ron Pearlman narrate the first episode to set the setting. Bam. Chaching.

I would be fine with that, were it not for the simple fact that it's an RPG, and that following the adventures of Vault Dwellers who are already written and characterized would hit too close home for people who don't want a movie or show to infringe on their visions of such characters.

As long its not Bethesda writting the Tv series...

Also this has been done before...Mad Max...
mad max wasn't about nuclear fallout, it was about a distinct lack of petrol forcing apocalypse upon us. i think.
I think he was just referring to the violent wasteland aesthetic of both series.

Interplay sold the rights for 53 million. Now Bethesda owns them.

I could see a TV show working. call it "Wasteland", make it about a vault dweller or several Vault Dwellers surviving on the surface. It could be kinda like Lost. They'de be caught in the middle of various groups- The BOS, the fragments of the government, bandits, and survivors.
For some odd reason, when I think of this I see the end of season 1. Season 1 is spent dealing with the bandits and survivors, all who make subtle hints at the BOS and fragmented governments. In the end of season 1, the main character(with a team of like two or so) are running away from a set of bandits. Suddenly one of the party gets knocked out by a sledge and the main character looks back to see what happened. Without notice, a Super Mutant grabs the main character by the throat and chokes him. Some time passes with tension building(other character just barely in view, getting his ass kicked by a super mutant), the Super Mutant raises the main character over his head and says something mutantish(like "Stupid human")then, "bam", the mutants head explodes into a bloody mess and the main character falls to the ground about to pass out. Right before he passes out you see a steel book slam down beside his head, and he proceeds to pass out.

Yeah, this probably seems dumb and cliche when written out, but damn was it cool in my head. Maybe it should have stayed there...

Strangely enough, the original Fallout was considered a unofficial sequel to a game titled Wasteland (Also made by Interplay).

If this comes to fruition I'm beheading Todd Howard.
I'll help, but only if its incredibly awful. Bethesda Studios is literally a 15 minute walk from my house.

Also a TV series would be awful, unless they made it a mini-series on HBO. Then you can have all the violence, swearing, and child killing you could ever want!

Oh yes, this would have to be a VERY adult series on a premium channel.

As a coincidental side note, I'm flying to London tomorrow to hear some big announcement from ... (wait for it) ... Bethesda. If it has anything to do with Fallout, I'll send word back to the home office immediately. You have my word.

And my axe!

I was JUST thinking about writing a Fallout script when I was done with the game.
Based on the fact that the game script sucks and you knew deep down in your heart that it could have been better?

Or was it all "VATsed another Super Mutant in the head...oh, here come MORE bandits...yay! Now I'm off to kill myself for the wasteland, later y'all."

id like to see a miniseries based not on one central character but one's from different groups
like one episode could be a vault dweller seeing the wastes for the first time learning to adapt to the harsh lifestyle
one could deal with the Brotherhood of Steel fighting the Enclave
they could even do a prequel about the Great War itself which could be cool

they got my avatar in the original post cool!

This should be in the main newsblock - if this isn't relevant, I'll be absolutely shocked.

For some reason I actually think this may become a good TV show / movie. Now lets see what punishment I am to endure for this piece of optimism.

No.....I meant a MOVIE script. Jesus. Are you going to troll every post I make about Fallout now because I insulted your precious turn based Fallout?

And now it's time for "The Real Deal with Bill McNeal!"

What a great show.

I find it odd that they'd make it a show. I hope they'd make it a miniseries, and not a series. Fallout always had closure, and the continuous progression of a story that won't end doesn't strike me as 'Fallout'.

But maybe that's me.
