I imagine this is not going to sit well with other people... and I don't mean it in a bad way, but I found Halflife2 to have a really WTF-ish ending. You go through a damn excellent game to find you were just dreaming it all, or where you, kind of thing. Makes me think too much of the FFX ending, which was really dire and stupid, but HL2 is no were near that bad.

When I beat KotoR the first time Bastilla attacked me near the end of the game. I didn't particularly like that so I poked around online and found the mistake I'd made in the conversation so I could beat it again and have her live. Ending was exactly the same as before except that Bastilla was standing in the background this time. I raged, a major character living or dying should have a bigger impact than that.

I wasn't too fond of Manhunt 2's ending either, but there's an alternate final mission you can play after clearing with a Leo focused ending that I found both more believable and satisfying. Kudos to Rockstar for giving us that option.

Fallout 3 was a disappointing ending although its still one of the best games I've played this/last year.

any game with a cliffhanger ugh, i love a game thats ending sums it up even better if it leaves it wide open for a successor but also sums it up if the successor never comes

Not a game but the ending to Neon Genesis Evengelion never made any sense to me. Why are the black haired kid and the red haired kid still alive and everyone is turned into orange tango?

I don't see Clive Barker's Jericho mentioned here, people usually cite that. But I really liked that ending. How would you know if killing the First Born would save the world. It needed powers, maybe when *spoiler* swooped down and they *spoilered* into a bright *spoiler* it go what it wanted.

Prince of Persia, as the whole repetitive gaming that you spent, was totally destroyed

KOTOR. My reward for saving the entire universe is that I get an award from a midget? Really?

Halo 3. My reward for saving the universe is tributary graffiti? Really?

Those are the ones that I really have an axe to grind about. There are lots of other endings that are cheap in some small way. KOTOR2 leaps to mind -- I would have enjoyed some still images describing the light/dark side destinies for each character.

The Dark Side ending for the Force Unleashed just made me violently angry -- you do the impossible, and get turned into a foot stool for your trouble. Thank God the Light Side ending makes more sense.

Bioshock -- I don't even get to see what my character looks like? This is taking the faceless create-a-character crap too far.

Ok here's one: What actually happens when you win the "mortal combat" competition?

A plaque?
A Trophy?
Is it like the movie?
Do fighting games have a plot?

Assassins Creed definitely - Not only was the story ending stupid but then I found out to read all the bonus material I needed to steal a pen from the doc in one specific scene halfway through the game! Left me fuming.

Mass Effect's ending was pretty lame, although the game was pretty easy so...
Explain. There does always seem to be someone that doesn't like Mass Effects ending, but I just don't get that. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I just can't see what the problem with ME's ending is at all.

What would you have wanted to happen in the ending anyway, seeing that the current one doesn't seem to match up?

(Blanks out all people saying Fallout 3, as their opinions don't matter to him)

With that... I would say GTA IV: The Lost And The Damned, but the ending was nothing short of epic. More the fact that the ending fucked up a few things for the free play.

Super Ghouls and Ghosts & Ghosts and Goblins

Seriously, highly abusive games, having to play the through TWICE to get the real ending and the real ending is just ... he doesn't even get laid..

Ghostbusters for NES was entirely shit too for both the game and the ending.
Super Off Road for SNES - beat all 99 races, it just goes to the high score screen.

Oh well, it was nintendo, in the days of NES and then SNES, so I 'suppose' I could give them a 'little' credit but it was honestly just for gloating rights.

Oblivion had a lame type ending, because you did all the work and you don't even rule the empire afterwards - be nice if you could instead, be a dick to everyone, but of course the amulet won't fit around your neck so *shrugs*.
