To add to the list, most Final Fantasy games have poor endings

Braid. To be continued in a review later.

But a lot of them have been listed. I think Gears 2's ending wasn't that great, but it was certainly better than Halo 2's... at least it brought SOME closure to the game.

Halo 3. I invested so much time into that whole story and when Halo 3 came out, I played it and, not only was the ending crap, THE GAMEPLAY WAS EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE FIRST GAME! WTF?!

Dunno about anyone else, but I was expecting a big final blowout battle with the Covenant at the end, rather than another "run for your life before Halo explodes" ending... GRR! (Still pissed about that one!)

Mass Effect's ending was pretty lame, although the game was pretty easy so...
That is because there is going too be Mass Effect 2 and 3 so the story will continue.
Yes, I know... That doesn't mean that I don't think it's bad. Besides, that's not an excuse for a poor ending.

Oh, I remember another game that disappointed me. Grandia 3. The ending was terrible. "Oh, it turns out that I love you after all. Maybe if I only loved a little more. I need to love more. You should show some love." Of course, the entire game started going downhill when they took the two coolest characters out of the party and spoon-fed you generic characters you could not give a single crap about. The cut scenes towards the end made me gag.

If the reveal to much then then it could ruin the story telling.

SPOILER!!SPOILER!!SPOILER!!SPOILER!!SPOILER!!SPOILER!!SPOILER!!SPOILER!!SPOILER!!SPOILER!!SPOILER!!
I mean i found the ending to be awesome, you just saved the day (well that is IF you chose to save the counsel) and you blew up the reaper, and then you swore that you would destroy the rest of the reapers. It was a fine ending really!
SPOILER!!SPOILER!!SPOILER!!SPOILER!!SPOILER!!SPOILER!!SPOILER!!SPOILER!!SPOILER!!SPOILER!!SPOILER!!
What I found the most frustrating about the ending was the lack of dialog options, I know why they did it, but I still hate them for it.

In comparison to the rest of the game, Uncharted 2 had a lame ending

COD4's ending.

It made me go, "grrrr".
I "grrrr'd" about 10 times harder at the end of MW2.

I guess i'll say golden sun. fantastic game, but literally ended with
"to be continued..."

fuck that

Yea GoW 2, played it through with a friend. We didnt realize that was the "end" until the credits started rolling, which was followed by a "oh what the fuck was that?" from both of us.
Exactly what me and my friend did when we finally cleared GoW2

MGS4. The story is great and all but the ending were too long, too much explaination and some "WTF" moments. I could not enjoy it at all.

The original ending of Max Payne 2.

C'mon, Max has been through an immense amount of sh*t. Mona was the only person left who actually cared whether Max lives or dies. They should have let her live.

That's the reason Dead on Arrival is the true ending for me.

Hotel Dusk definitely had the worst ending. I'll mark it as spoiler, but I won't reveal actual plot elements, or really anything that ruins the ending's effect.

After unraveling a whole web of mysteries and conspiracies inside the hotel, your character basically just ends with "Well, I solved that case" without actually coming to a RESOLUTION of anything in there; he just learned a bunch of stuff, and then never did anything about it. Like "Oh. That's nice."
