When competition becomes ugly in online video games community (Like mmorpg for example) sometimes it's best to just stay silent... some other times it's best to just defend your ground with respectful negotiation and if that fails borderline acceptable quotes/insults works fine too.

But what do you do when nothing works? Move on and tolerate their behavior or just leave the place if you can't... I can tolerate them just fine and I know I will eventually leave the place after I get bored of the game but it's for the others that I worry about.

What if others who are more likely to join my guild or want to play the game with me just give up because of those individuals? They're called online games for a reason.

A new mmorpg will start soon and I messed up big time there by replying to the disrespectful/unproductive/weird comments of others in the community. I messed up so bad that my guildies are going to play with me in secret and they don't know why I tolerate all this but it's not like I have any other options as long as their actions are being tolerated... and their actions are being tolerated for the sake of competition, which suck.

What about you? How would you cope with online video games loudmouth competitors?

depends whats been said. If you were trolling or your part of an elite group of internet punching bags (furries,Twilight fans, Jonas brothers/Miley cirus fans) then you may have to flee the MMORPG - Theres always another one out there.

No other servers since the game is not even open yet (just finished beta testing a few months ago and it's going to be open testing soon) and I find furries disturbing, twilight borderline demented (Sparkling vampires makes me want to shovel my brain out of my skull with a spoon), I didn't know Jonas had brothers and I'm not a fan of Cirus... I just have a very unhealthy fetish on her breast.

Beside, the game is not open world PVP so I don't really need to be scared or anything.

Edit: But yeah... I may have trolled those kids a little bit too hard. Kinda feel bad about myself to have lowered them to such extreme.

If you can't beat them, then just walk away. Depending on what game you are playing, you can change servers, join a different lobby or just move on to something else entirely.

Its a real shame that griefers exist in the first place

Nahh its fine, this is the internet. I didnt mean to insinuate anything, i was just quoting examples.

I dont really know what to suggest apart from making your own guild with some friends (ACTUAL friends) and go from there.

Thats why we need a new world order initiative to hunt these fuckers down and turn their rigs into naugh but smoking piles of ruin, sieze all their assests and watch them cry and cry as they realise they are well and truly fucked.
