This. While I understand the attraction of gambling I never been able to see why people are willing to part with the money that they have earned for a sum that they most likely won't get and in the end losing the money that they worked hard to earn. Sure a few people will make it but it seems better to work and save up your money. I know that many jobs don't pay much but which is better: to save up slowly or to lose your money off of a very long bet?LongAndShort said:Not a fan of betting on things I have little control over, and I have god awful luck even when I have great luck (when playing poker with some mates I have gone in with a full house, only to be beaten by one of those mates with a higher cards. Or I had four of a kind and another mate had a higher four. It's fucking ridiculous).
I also don't bet on sport. There is no faster way for a team I support to lose than for me bet on them.
There's like 6 decks in the pile or something like that. Apparently the side-bet is a bad thing to do because the house has a 6% edge on it. Ah well I lucked out and walked away with $400 in the end.Fatboy_41 said:Ah... I think it's the thrill. I know I was far more invested in the match I bet on than I usually am when watching football. Felt amazing when they won last minute.Childe said:This.
