Probably not. But I'm havin' a day and I've had people get snippy with me for NOT being angry about the reveal. I'll stop.

I dont care about the game, I am just cynical and doubtful. I hope the game is great, cause even if I dont care about it personally, I can relate if a game I did like got a sequel and dont want the fans to suffer. I have good reason to think the game will be bad, whether you agree with it or not. If you want to disagree then do, I hope you love the game, but dont be rude.
I'm not saying you don't have good reasons, I'm just asking what they are. The only history we have for this game, as far as I'm aware, is it's predecessor, two trailers, a bullshit broken promise from Ubisoft in the past, and the first of (supposedly) many planned discussion/reveal videos wherein Ancel will discuss the game as it develops. If there's something more I genuinely want to know it. I prefer to have as much info on a game I'm interested in as possible, to better prepare myself for judging its final build. I'm tentatively hopeful (as with most game reveals) that the game will turn out at least okay. But, in either regard, I'm saving judgement until it comes out. I don't see a point in assuming it will be one way or another until then.

And Duke Nukem Forever is a thing.
An entirely different thing.

DNF was a game that switched teams and devs at least three times, had a paltry budget from start to finish, and was rushed to market in an unfinished state by Randy Pitchford to try to make a quick buck[footnote]And because Pitchford is a shitbag.[/footnote]

That kinda reminded me of that procedural planetarium toy, SpaceEngine. That thing's developer created a very impressive engine for rendering planets, atmospheric effects, indirect lighting that made effects like planetshine and nights brightly lit by full moons and planet rings possible. The only problem the dev had was that he had no idea how to turn this techo demo into anything practical(that and the atrocious framerates). I wonder if he was contacted by Ubisoft and it is his impressive technology that is behind the BGaE2 now.

I'm 50/50 now. Knowing i don't have to be that fucking monkey is good but if its character creation i imagine the story is going to be a lot more generic than the original and that turns me right off.

I'd much prefer an interesting, non-sweary character like Jade to play, not some random guy who everyone calls the chosen one because its a cheap way of avoiding calling you by name

Whatever dude. I dont care enough to keep going.
So basically, "I just wanna be angry about a thing."

'Kay. I'll let ya do that. Seems to be the default state of this forum anyway. After all, people got legitimately angry over a surprise reveal trailer.

Have a good day. :)

You don't care? Why'd you even bother to comment in the thread in the first place? You saw the video and your first reaction was to say to "Remember Day 0 of development". You lame for that. Basically being cynical for the sake of being cynical.

I'm glad they were able to get something working so soon. That three year development for the engine was clearly worth it.
