BF:BC2 Snipers check in.

ok so iv been playing bad company 2 for about 15 hours so far and am loving it, and just yesterday i managed to blow the brains out of some chap who was literally on the other side of the map. it was on arica harbor and i was using the gol magnum sniper with 12x scope, i had to put my crosshair about 3 centimeters over his head and got a 435 sniper marksman bonus, i was very happy with my self as i shouted at my screen to eat it hahah.

so im wondering what the fine ppl of the internet have done by the way of long shots, whats your best sniper marksman bonus?

I spend a good deal of time as recon but only because when not sniping (not the best shot in the world) I enjoy blowing holes in the sides of buildings, runing in and cutting people.

I have only played for about 8hours and have 50+ unique dogtags. It could be verry wrong that I enjoy stabbing people this much.

I am not the greatest sniper when there isn't bullet physics, so with them I am going to be awful, which is quite a feat.

I snipe and provide over-watch, calling in any high priority targets and sniping medic. I also tag vehicles with a tracer when I can.

I play as sniper in BF2

I was on the wake island (more specifically the american artillery island), and I happen to find a sniper on the other side of the water. I asked my squadleader to give me the range on him. I think he was 350+ meters away.

I put my sights on him and did the calculation slowly (still new to the whole "compensating for range thing..") and he got up to move. I said screw it and took a shot and killed him

It wasn't the longest shot I did, but still one of my better shots
longest being 500 meter shot and I only killed him because he's already been shot and he didn't know where the shot came from.

I hate that too. I can understand having a couple snipers helping to cover squads as they move towards the crate. But seriously sometimes half of the attackers are sniping.

OT: I loved sniping in the first Bad Company. It just going to take some getting used to in BC 2

There is no Sniper class in BF:BC2, there is a recon class that let's you use a sniper rifle amongst other things.

I HATE people who just sitting at the back and snipe contributing nothing to the battle apart from some kills.

I can usually rack up at least eight kills as a sniper in MW2. Sadly, I don't have BC:2 and probably won't for quite a while.

However, I don't play sniper like most people do. When I snipe, I am constantly on the move. I'll take my shot and depending on hit or miss, move. If I miss, I'll just drop to prone (I normally crouch or stand while sniping). If I hit, even if I don't kill, I'll move, usually toward the target. This way, killcams never give my position away.

ya i watched that how not to be a noob video too so i understand where you got your opinion. but contrary to that guys belief, yes you are a sniper, you "snipe" people. aside from spotting every target you see and mortaring bomb sites and tanks, you spend a very large amount of time...Killing people from far away with a sniper rifle.

Please people! There is an excess of snipers in this game! Give the other classes a try, battles are way more enjoyable for all when the majority of both sides are at the frontlines.
