boy isnt that fun?

at best i can give them kudos because aparently these microtransactions wont give players an advantage, i think, i dont play BF4, cant stand battlefield games

but the thing is, with a game that was rushed and from what i understand still doesnt work properly, that had pre-order bonuses and multiple DLCs, etc. this just sounds like more milking

also remember this?

Didn't they eventually do something like this with Battlefield 3 in the end? I'm not certain because I eventually gave up on it looong before they were done releasing their stream of DLC.

Accessories and xp boosts... accessories is stuff you customize weapons with, like scopes, silencers, etc.

Well, EA turning a horrifically buggy failed launch game that still hasn't been properly fixed into a full price title with microtransaction double dipping abomination isn't a total surprise.

Seriously, how low can you go?

^i think so, with those shortcut packs that unlock everything if I'm not mistaken, it's also in bf4.

But this is really not that bad, battle packs are like randomized loot boxes you earn through normal play anyway so this is basically just another shortcut pack which is really just another option you can ignore at least. Unless they made the drops much more rare now in an effort to subtly lull people into buying them instead, now that would be very wrong of them.

double dipping? HAH!

the game had DLC, pre-order bonuses, season pass, it was rushed, that premium thing i believe, or is that the season pass? i cant even keep track of all the bullshit

but now with microtransactions they are atleast penta dipping

honestly it wouldnt be that bad, the system is kind of similar to Valve's system with CS:GO, of course valve can even make microtransactions in non-F2P games look decent

the problem is this looks incredibly dishonest, valve released a very functional game with CS:GO, added a ton of maps and content for free and no multiplayer content is behind a paywall, EA released a completely broken game, that is still broken, had the usual pre-order/DLC crap and now is adding microtransactions, gamers arent really getting much out of this deal

Don't forget that CS:GO was $15 while BF4 was (is?) $60 on launch.

I haven't bothered with Battlefield since Battlefield 3 came out. The errors in netcode, the bugs that weren't fixed and the splitting on the community by putting up pay walls for maps and content made me lose interest which makes me really sad because I really enjoy Battlefield games. I don't want to support the direction the franchise has moved to. What is worse is EA is severely hurting Dice. Dice has the ability to produce good games if given the resources.

Ever since Dead Space 3 to dungeon keeper. They made their bed and this is their modus operandi now. You want visceral looking games with all the options, you can't even play and explore multiple times to earn all the game has to offer (which theoretically would keep people playing), you gotta pay for them.

Especially when there are more people out there willing to pay rather than really play.

Yes with a wider birth it could hurt what the definition of what a hardcore gamer is. I hope not though.

Yeah, I know it doesn't sound like that big of a deal, as the transactions seem more harmless than other games, however, the mere inclusion of them is enough to turn me off of some games. It's alright, I don't have any friends that play Battlefield on PC so I don't think I would have got into BF4 anytime soon.

Reason number 75 to not to buy EA's games. (worse part is, for the little time I played it, BF4 was generally good, heck it would've even been GREAT)

Yet the next time they turn the hype machine, I would still buy DA:I
