A lot of people with dual cores are complaining of poor performance in BFBC2. Me included. Running an E6600 at 2.8ghz. More than adequate... unless the game is a bad port and only uses a small fraction of most people's available GPU power.

Some people are reporting, through the use of an EVGA Precision tool for overclocking, that their GPU is being utilized to about 1/3rd full capacity or less. If you search the web there are tests and screen shots out there.

The reason for this is that the xbox uses a triple core processor at 3.2ghz, but only has like 256mb of video ram and a weak GPU.

That's the first thing I thought when I started checking my performance issues, that this game wasn't nearly pretty enough to require such high end hardware... and it turns out it isn't. It's just made like shit.

Yep, it runs and looks like shit, doesn't really have proper dedi servers, and this from the developer that said they were going to treat the PC really well.

At this rate, you fellows will only be able to buy one or two games per year.

I got it for the 360 so I wouldn't know. But that sucks to hear since Dice always made PC games.

Oh look at that, my Xbox 360 copy is running great.
Seriously, if people didnt only have a PC, they would have a bit more options is all im saying.

I have no problems on my PC, and I use a dual core too. Maybe you people just download porn from the wrong places, that'll ruin a PC you know.

But dammit, they'll be good games!
You had better hope so!

I do ache for you guys though; gaming on the PC is a heavy cross to bear. :p

I never got this console vs PC war, what's so funny about it?

First off you realize your fancy console games are made on PCs right?

Consoles are neat, PCs are neat, why is it always fighting?

It's just the multi games that are gimped really, the PC exclusives like ArmA II and STALKER are still just as great as they ever were. It's just that not as many people play them.
Knowing how buggy both of those games were at release, I'm going to stick with my original assessment. Especially since quite a few of the biggest PC games are multiplatform.

Game run remarkable well on E6600 @ 3.02 and 8800 GTS(we have the same proccessor, what kind of graphics card are you running?), last time I was running fraps I was holding steady at 30-40 fps. While it's possible there could be some bad code in there, the downside of PC gaming is it could also be any number of other things. We pay for the freedom and customization that comes with a PC, unlike a console which always has the same parts and same drivers.

Buggy, but fixed, and then made even better! Thank god for the PC modding community!

What I'm saying is, sure PC is getting a bit of a bad time lately, but we're certainly not bereft of good games.
Why does the PC modding community have to fix these games? Aren't game developers paid to release good content in the first place?

It's one thing to see an underfunded indie developer release a game with some bugs, but quite another to watch an established developer shoot themselves in the foot due to technical differences between what the game was developed on and what the consumer likely has.

This is why I have consoles. I may miss out on expansions and mods, but at least I'm 99% guaranteed that the game will be playable on release. My PC is used for RTS games and old classics now.

I think that's a sign when Battlefield is making crappy PC ports. Battlefield! Of all games... oh well, it's a sad market we live in. People just aren't PC gaming like they used to. Now it's all these kids with their fancy Duty Calls and War Gears for their GameBox 3000.

I have intel i7....no problem here....jk,jk I feel for the PC gamers. I gave up on PC gaming a while ago though due to the fact that my PC is far less stable than my xbox. I only get PC exclusives on PC

My friend Nate has a Quad core and a 9000 series Nvidia GPU, says the game runs fantastically.
That's because if something doesn't work well on a Quad core, then the game itself is broken, not the computer.

The game got an average "meh" review, so I'm not going to touch it even with a PC port.
Especially, if the port falls on its face when it comes to utilizing current PC technology.

well... it begins with something called Fanboys... >.>

As you must already know.

OT: I dont find it a bad port at all, though I never played the ps3/360 version outside of the demo/ps3 beta, When I do get online for BFBC2 on PC it is just amazing its sooooo much fun. :D

This is kind of to be expected since the Frostbite engine (the engine BC1, BC2, and 1943 run on) was created specifically for consoles. BC2 is the first game that uses the engine on the PC. Of course there are going to be issues.

From what I can tell its a hell of a lot better than the beta, but there are still some issues.

Give them time to fix it. Thats all you can do.

I'm not interested in Bad Company 2 and never was, but I were a PC gamer who was looking forward to it - especially after after boycotting MW2 - I'd be disappointed.
DICE promised big to secure PC sales and it seems like they couldn't follow through.

One thing i hate about the pc version is the server browser. it feels like an afterthought, right now im trying to join a game and it doesn't say Ive lost connection, or the server is full even when it isn't, it just stops connecting and has no reason why.
