I personally think Mumford and Sons should have won.

Damn straight they should have won. Little Lion Man alone outclasses everything any of the other new artists have done (except maybe Florence and the Machine. They're all right, but eh.)

Still who is surprised by this? These tweens have already proven that their mindless devotion has corrupted their brains so much that they can't take any criticism of their false idol. These are "people" who wish death on celebrities just for mentioning his name wrong. They sent Kim Kardashian death threats, not because she is a vapid waste of space who should never have been allowed on TV, but because she thought Bieber was cute. These are the ones who cheered when Lily Allen had a miscarriage, because she commented that she didn't know who Justin Bieber was. These people are poisoned and I can't wait for the antidote to come in about two years time when puberty does to their Lord and Savior what it did to Aaron Carter. I plan on celebrating that day, with some of the good things that my homeland has produced: beer and poutine.

Beiber fans aren't the only fans with rabid one-eyed tendencies. This sort of thing happens with every artist's fans, in every genre. Just look on any YouTube page for any artist that you care to name with a reasonably high profile and you'll see all sorts of bitching and name-calling. It's just that when Beiber fans do it, it's news, because Beiber is big right now. If it was a fight between Esperanza Spalding fans and Muse fans nobody would care.

I don't hate Justin Beiber. In fact, I'm kind of proud of him. Dudes 16, getting paid the big bucks to sing, and has millions of fans that would throw themselves at him in a heartbeat (and I know plenty "of age" Beiber fans. A lot of them are pretty attractive).
