Big Boobs- why do people complain?

Games? Also groovy stuff - as I think we all can agree.
Games with breasts, I`ll just chalk it down to realism, graphics etc.
Games about breasts, ehrm...huh?

To be honest though, I really don`t have a strong opinion on the matter, but if an rpg is set in the medieval equivalent of the Playboy-mansion, it`s somewhat silly, and as ultrachicken says - it sets the industry back a bit.

When I play an rpg I like to be immersed in the gaming world...not silly cone valley. And if FF`s are bouncing all over my latest installment of FF...then something just feels off.

I've only played parts of the demo on a friend's computer, if that's true then I'll have to withdraw my comment on the gypsy boobs and instead consider that to be a fairly creative storytelling concept.

Yea, DA2 has two "modes". One where Varric (the dorf narrator, and also a party member) is just spinning a yarn and the "real events". When Varric starts making some creative exaggerations, characters become unstoppable juggernauts and all the women grow at least three cup sizes.

It's actually kinda awesome.

It just proves that sometimes big isn't that good at all, why make it unnecessarily humongous when you can make them a rather more pleasant size?

Semi-related: A conversation I had once mentioned a lot of the big-chested females in games tend to come from fighting games. I'm serious. Morrigan, Ivy, Mai Shiranui, the entire DoA cast... It was an odd trend.

Big-breasted females? I have no problem with that. It's when their chests become their defining aspect. My prime example: Ivy. She's got a good looking face, a nice voice, and a kickass weapon. But as the Soul Caliber series went on, she was getting less and less clothing.

They took a sexy character, and then focused only on the sexiness of that character. But she's a fighting game character, so there's not much else to work with...

Still, there are plenty of big-breasted females who can be recognized for something other than their earth-shattering tits. It's more of a developer mindset, a marketing mindset (Sex sells), and targeting their demographic (teenage males, for the most part).

I hate when the breast of any female character bounces like she has put two helium balloons under her shirt...it is weird and the time they tried to make those they could be making other things better like...well some game mechanic that is more fun.

I don't inherently have a quarrel with big boobs in games, but I fail to see how something like this is at all attractive;

I'm a heterosexual female, I like dicks. If I ever saw a guy in a video game with a bulge that freakishly disproportionate with his body, I wouldn't think it was hot, I'd wonder what the hell was wrong with him.

B. It breaks immersion faffing about in a world of giant boobs
C. I feel like the designers are insulting my intellegence

What if I'm not just attracted to looks? What if personality comes into play? A lot of times female characters will be given huge racks and little to no personality. I find Flemeth from Dragon Age attractive when it comes to her personality.

Well its boring and they always do it to 2D characters. Characters like Alyx Vance, The Boss, that girl from Bulletstorm, all have small breasts, are actually somewhat 'respected' and are interesting. And the time spent on the jiggle physics, could be used to cure cancer.

Are you saying that Alyx would no longer be a good character if her breasts were bigger?

I'm a hetero male, and I don't find that attractive. I'm trying to figure out how to explain what aspect of it disturbs me. I guess it has just crossed the line between sex appeal and terrifying. Add the glare which looks like jizz, and I'm more likely to go gay and hook up with Reaver.

It is keeping the general population and uptight parts from viewing games as an artform. I'm not saying that's all that's holding them back, there are other tacky parts of games. As much as we argue Shadow of the Colossus is a work of art, they will focus on Ninja Gaiden's six-axis controlled tit jiggling. They're impractical in many games where we are to expect that females can fight, run, and function without flaw, and unnecessary in games that expect to be taken seriously. They're alright in a comical niche, but please keep them in the shirt of that genre.

It's not the big boobs, its the fact that every woman in every game has them.

I just played about 10 minutes of the Dragon Age II demo, and immediately noticed my "sister" or whatever was rocking Double-D's

Women can have large breasts, but two feet away is your "mother" and she's a reasonable endowed woman.

...it basically said to me: Mother is gonna die or be captured, her breasts aren't large enough for her to make a difference.
