Big Halo:Reach problem

So I finally completed Halo:Reach on legendary today. I was really happy until I noticed I didn't get my achievement.
I went to the mission select to see what missions I hadn't completed when I noticed the first 4 missions were locked. You can imagine my surprise/anger when it said the missions were locked and I hadn't played them.

It's odd because at the VERY least, they show show completion on normal, since my boyfriend and I beat the game on normal the very first day it came out.

And before you ask, no I'm not a cheater, so my stuff shouldn't have been reset. My last few missions show completion on Legendary.

And I love the campaign, but I feel so defeated right now.


Has anyone heard of something like this happening? It's very depressing.

If the first mission is unlocked just play through them again I guess?

If they're all locked then try starting the mission on a new xbox profile then have your profile join as the 2nd player. Play through that way and it should work maybe

You just have to play those 4 missions on legendary, you can't play the last mission on legendary and expect to get the achievement. I know it probably seems like you didn't forget but you probably did. My friend does that shit all the time and gets pissed at me for saying what I just said to you.

It's a big problem to me since I devoted my time to it. This was the first Halo game I completed on Legendary by myself, so yet again it is a big deal to me.

And I realise it is probably a glitch, but I was looking for solutions and/or people who this may have happened to.

No, I played all the missions on legendary. The problem is that after I beat them, the first 4 are LOCKED. They shouldn't be locked anyway because my boyfriend and I played the game through on normal the first day it came out.
Trust me, I remember doing ALL the missions on Legendary and wouldn't dare do something foolish like forget to play some missions.

i feel for you those first four mission on legendary are very tough. a similar thing happened to me in ODST. i finished the game on co-op but didn't know i had to start a new game to get the achievements.

This happened to me too on heroic. It didn't register that I beat the 1st or the 7th level for some reason. So, your anger is shared.

I figured I'd have to redo them. It just stinks to have to redo half of my hard work.

Did you play while not connected online for the first few and then recover your profile on another xbox? cause i did that with halo3 and even though i finished all the missions in legendary some got whiped cause i wasnt online and then moved my profile, (and i thought it would have just saved my game progress on my harddrive but apparently not)

Yeah, happened to me on Heroic on my first playthrough. It said I hadn't done missions 7 or 9 at all, but 8 and 10 were fine. Just a really fucking annoying glitch.

I had a similar problem, with not recieving credit for beating a level on Legendary. Turns out, if you are playing a level in co-op, and a person(s) with you, did not play every second of the level, you won't get the credit.

Two of my friends and I had decided to play through on Legendary. Myself and one of the two were online, the third was not. We decided to continue playing without him, starting from our last save point. A few minutes later, he joined us. We all played through the entire campaign, but at the end, none of us got credit for playing on legendary. Eventually, we figured it out, and went back, and replayed the level he had been late to. Presto! We get the achievement for playing on legendary.

This is the only situtation I know of that could apply to what you have mentioned. I hope it helps. If not, then I would recommend contacting Bungie and seeing what they can suggest.

Damn, I would just hack it and give myself the achievement haha. You earned it fair and square so why not. Perhaps better not to risk it though as we know Bungie are banning people for cheating.

Yeah that does suck...well at least its the first 4 missions and not the last 4. I rember going through the last level on Legendary and having shit fit trying to take on the very last Elite guarding the turret. If i found out i had to do it again i would likely scream.

The same thing happened to me when i was playing Splinter Cell: Conviction. After i beat the entire game on realistic i didn't get my achievement. I went back to the level select to see if i missed a level, and it shows me that i beat all of them on realistic. So i think maybe i have to watch the credits so i play the last level again and watch credits and no achievement. To this day i still have no achievement for it so i feel your pain (teardrop).

It may take a while to show up, but it will be there eventually. And if not, just send Bungie a message. They love their fans, and would more than likely help out.

This happens all the time in Halo 3/ODST/Reach, it pissed me off when it happened.

Anywho, I've found out that this is an actual glitch. I've asked around and a few people have said that even if you save properly, stay on one 360 and do everything correctly, sometimes the game will glitch up and stop your progress.
It's a toss of the coin type of thing, so you can never tell if all your progress will or will not count.
