As most of you guys know, the game Red Steel 1 wasn't very good (Though I never played it many ppl said it was bad) but then Red Steel 2 came out and a lot of ppl really liked it and said it was quite good.

I think this is going to be the same situation with Two Worlds 2, crap first game, awesome second. All previews I have read by ppl who hated the first (most of the previewers never got past the first hour of the first game) are loving the second game:

Now I may come across as trying to conert you to get the game or something, no I just decided to show links to show what I mean.

But here is the real question:

What are the biggest gaming turn arounds? What crap games have led the a cool sequel?

I believe Killzone sorts of fits into this.

Pokémon Green was fun, but really, really buggy. Later versions were still buggy, but it didn't get in the way of gameplay.

Any long-running game series will tend to have big contrasts between old, buggy games and the newer ones in the series.

I think a solid example is GTA III, compared to older games in the series. 1 and 2 weren't very notable, but the sheer innovation and amount of freedom in GTA III was very impressive for its time.

Assassin's Creed (even though I liked the first one, I could see its faults) and the sequel blew it away fixing pretty much everything.

The first Spider-Man movie games was pretty shitty, but Spider-Man 2 is a classic.

Going back a while World Series Baseball 2K1 sucked donkey balls but 2k2 kicked so much ass it was almost arrested and charged with assault to everyone who played it after 2k1.

Definitely Saint's Row 2. The first one was just a generic GTA rip off that tried to hold it's own. The second however. Just. Amazing.

Resistance 2 had much better multiplayer than the first...

Sly 2 Band of Theives had actual stealh, and a much more intresting story.

Donkey Kong Country 2 arguably.

The Hitman series.

The first game was like.. "Oh man if only they'd do this.." At the time it was passible. Horrible follow ups; then came along Connections I think it was called..? That was pretty sweet.
You know what's weird? Everytime I try to think of the Hitman games, all I ever see is the Punisher game from 2005. I know they have almost nothing in common but for some it has replaced all my memories of Hitman. I need to go back and play all of those now (Hitman series and Punisher).

GTA III is the obvious one, as the 2D GTA games have some weird issues. I would also call out Halo2 as the original had some of the worst level design ever, and tended to suffer from that little glitch of NOT MAKING ANY FECKING SENSE. Halo 2 is really good though.

Actually that's all I got. I feel like there should be more.
