I think Arcanum: Of Magick and Steamworks Obscura was one of the most massive games I ever played excluding the FF series, the game map was so big that you could walk for nearly 60 hours (I think) from one side of the map to the other.

The only game I have played with a map possibly bigger than WOW's is Lineage 2 which is also an MMO. There is a lot of mountains with giant fortresses and dungeons inside them and it takes a very long time to explore. And just like WOW it has special portals that lead to special places and they are pretty big too. I know you excluded WOW but this game came out 4 years before it and it was very impressive in graphics and size at the time.

Well, I used the search bar and found nothing about what I wanted to ask.

Anywho, what would be the biggest PC game in terms of hard drive size and/or map size that you know of?

When I say biggest in map, what do you reckon would have the largest span in terms of travel distance or size etc. (Think I just said the same thing twice)

World of Warcraft and GTA excluded.

Hard Drive size? Mass Effect 2, which is suppost to be spanning two disks.

Morrowind, hands down.
The map is gigantic.

Morrowind is a pretty big game, but Daggerfall is more so. It definitely isn't biggest data-wise, but the map is huge. You have two provinces to explore and miles to go run through.

Yeah I reckon. If you ask me it was tonnes bigger then Oblivion. Especially with all the expansion packs.

And yet you could jump over it all at once... ah, the joys of silly enchanting.

Oh, and on topic: EVE online. I only know it's freaking huge. It's a galaxy, with lots of solar systems, thus lots of planets and stuff.

Fallout 3 with all the DLC installed. I literally played the game for 2 weeks, 5-6 hours a day. It's the longest it took me to beat the game, in pure gaming hours .

Map size I have seen is this game I have called X3: terran conflict seems to be huge but its tough to tell because I get bored with it after a while. Each section you zone into seems to be pretty big and can take like 15-20 minutes to fly to, its a space simulation game.
