I was plating Mass Effect 2 and I was doing Mordin's loyalty mission. After that Blood Pack guy is done monologuing and has died, I walked up the ramp and was very close to the railing. I was then raised slowly up into the ceiling and was stuck there. It was funny but wholly unhelpful.

I guarantee nobody will beat this. I just wish a I had a screenshot!

I was playing Fallout 3 (big surprise, this probably one of the buggiest games ever!) and I was in one of the vaults trying to retrieve a GECK, this was actually just after I met Fawkes. I had to open his prison cell by opening all of the cells, some of which contained Centaurs (those half human buggy creepy crawly things with a dozen legs and tentacles coming out of their mouths). So, knowing that the centaur would escape, I placed several mines in front of the door as a'getting out' gift for him. I then freed Fawkes and the centaurs and immediately heard several loud bangs in the distance, the mines had obviously done their job. I then returned to prison cells only to be met by one of the creepiest, weird, what-the-fucking-shit moments I have ever seen in a game.
At first nothing seemed to happen. But then the body of one of the dead centaurs, slowly started to sink into the ground. Now this is something we've all seen before, but here's where things got a little odd. After the body completely sank through the floor (as if no clip was on) it suddenly shot up back though the floor and froze in mid air. It then started to quickly bounce between the floor and the ceiling. Now, every time it did this, it not only slowly gathered in momentum, but the body also seemed to get a few of it's pixels stuck in each surface as it hit them. But trust me, that's not the weird part. This went on for about a 5 seconds and in that short space of time, the centaur had become completely unrecognisable. It had bounced between the ceiling and floor and scattered its pixels so much that it looked like a knot of tangled up sting. This was when it was still moving and gathering in speed so it looked like somebody was trying to untangle this knot at the speed of light! But then, as if that wasn't strange enough, the 'knot' then started to move away from me down the corridor, still jerking around like crazy with pixels flying everywhere! The knot then reached the end of the corridor and turned round the corner and go out of sight. I remember standing there for a moment before whispering to myself, "What the fuck" (naturally). It's strange but, at the time I was actually really scared. Just seeing this weird shape materialise and start whipping about in all directions and then suddenly disappearing around a corner and then not knowing where it had gone, it really scared the shit out of me!

But after it disappeared, I never saw it again. I left the vault with a new companion and continued to save the wasteland. But to this day I can't help but get this feeling that it's still down there.....waiting for me......

Anyway, beat that!!!!

Bloody hell, I've written an essay!

I was playing "Metro 2033" and while i was battling a Black Librarian(black yeti like creature that lives in the library)it was about to hit me and i guess it hit the map and the Library vanished...it just F%$#&%@ dissapeared as if i had No-Clip on the only thing is that i played it on a console so no No-Clip.there wasn't even a sky to be seen. The freakin Black Librarian(NOTE:there are dumber weaker grey ones)just took away the level.i was on some grassy Rectanglar prism(there were alot of them)and an enemy who was probably at his spawn point when the level disapeared.i jumped into the infinite black void and fell for over an hour...my gun and my watch bugged out.well that the worst glitch I've ever encountered.
how bout a funny glitch?

In Battlefield Bad Company 2, my friend and I were in a helicopter that was about to be shot down. I bailed out, but not before getting hit by the tail of the now out of control, spinning helicopter. It catapulted me clear across the map to the enemy base. Even though I was probably the fastest object in the game (probably faster than bullets even), I landed safely because if you're parachute is deployed, you receive no falling damage. It was really funny cause I didn't realize what was going on at first. all I see is the helicopter and the game world below me fading in the distance.
Did you steal the enemy helicopter when this happened?

(Sorry if someone already said this, I've had this topic up for like 12 hours and never got a chance to reply. =P

Call of Cthulhu: Dark corners of the Earth: game froze at the same place every time, not even restarting with a new file would help.

Half Life 1: that giant headcrab queen got stuck in a tunnel every time where I could not shoot her... so I no clipped through the floor to the portal.

Well, Soul Calibur 3 had the variable cancel glitch [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSne0bHhlvs&feature=relate] that instantly transformed the game from "decent but disappointing" to "god damn this game sucks and I'll never play it again". SC3 is essentially responsible for killing the tiny Soul Calibur scene we had back here. I guess that's an achievement.

And yes, it's another fighting game example. Those who know me are probably bored to tears by now.

Personally, the worst bug I've ever encountered was in Metro 2033. Just bought the game, having immense fun, totally immersed in the game... I was riding a rail car, with a ranger. We just got done getting shot up by Nazis, and then we continued on. BUT, at the end of the tunnel, THERE WERE THREE OF THEM WAITING FOR US! My comrade quickly swerved left to avoid them, as I shot at them with my revolver, barely giving them flesh wounds, as we went down the alternate tunnel. It was dark, so I decided to don my NVGs, as we continued on. I saw lots of trains... We were in the Depot. I saw a black figure jumping across above us, so I knew we were in for a fight. Then, AUGH, my HEAD! The stupid creatures were attacking our minds! After a long, hard fight, I ended up skidding along, my comrade dead, the creatures closing in fast...But the cart outran them. I turned around to heave a sigh of relieve...Right as my face smashed into wooden boards. I quickly recovered, and ducked under the next ones, but then...The cart hit...er...something poking out of the ground...And the cart fell on me, as my character exclaimed exactly what I was saying (Nearly simultaneously. Ironic, no?). after I had recovered, crawled out from under, ready to continue traveling...I disappeared. I fell through the game, into nothingness. Several tries, attempting moving, jumping, and crouching, yielded the same results: Complete failure to continue due to a game-breaking bug, that leads to a technical glitch. Damn it, someone needs to make a fix for this. (Or you guys need to lead to one that's already been made, as Google has failed me. (And ironically led me here.))

The Pokemon games have the best ones. Besides from the obvious MissingNo glitch, there are some other rather tasty glitches that can appear. One of my personal favourites:

But the one where you can get Mew in Pokemon Yellow, as well as duplicates of all the Legendaries, is fun to toy about with too: Linkage. [http://www.trsrockin.com/mewtrick.html] However, the best by far has to be Glitch City. [http://www.trsrockin.com/glitchcity.html] The amount of time I spent dicking around in there...

Way back when I was a kid, playing Donkey Kong on my Gameboy [Remake of the Arcade Donkey Kong w/ Mario], absolutely could not get past this one level, must have tried a hundred times, one day I loaded up my save file to give it another go, the screen went all buggy and froze the game, and when I booted it up again, it had glitched and I was at the next level.

There are many in the Borderlands DLC, Secret Armoury of General Knoxx. I entered a lobby where all the players were messing around with this glitch that got you out of the map in T-Bone junction. There was this massive open glitch area which everyone was driving around in and when you got to the very edge, you fell off the map.
There's also the famous armoury glitch. Now when you get inside the armoury, you have 2 minutes to collect a heap of loot before a bomb goes boom. This glitch allows you to get into the armoury before the bomb starts and so, you have unlimited time to collect loot.

Oh and Fallout 3 will always surprise you with it's wierd, annoying and wonderful glitches. I was exploring one of the satellite places inhabited by Enclave and found a glitch where dead wastelanders got reanimated and all had exactly the same amount of health, about two thirds. They didn't respond when I hit one of them and when I killed one, the ragdoll stretched and wrapped around a metal staircase.

Encountered, well it didn't happen to me but I was on mic with my friend when it happened to her.

World of Warcraft:-

She logged on one morning to find herself in spirit form, IE dead.
Needing to find her body she searched for it, She was puzzled because she had not run any dungeons and had logged out in Dalaran (a large floating city with nothing outside the 5 player dungeon inside that could result in death)
After endlessly searching she suddenly dropped through the city in ghost form and found herself outside the Alliance town of Auberdine on entirely another continent.

Eventually she just had to report the problem to a GM and wait 3 hours until they fixed it and resurected her.

One of the glitchiest games I ever played was Scarface, but it was still fun as hell.

Well, my friend showed me a glitch on Modern Warfare 2 Spec-ops which we were playing on my brother's Xbox 360 where you can find an entire level from Call of Duty 4 by... doing something to do with jumping on cars and running outside the map. Then we managed to get underneath the map and admire the of the map from underneath it. Eventually we just decided to jump off the edge and watch as our guns glitched out in hilarious ways.

I've no idea how it happened, but whilst playing Final Fantasy X, all my characters got swapped for monsters, even in the cut scenes, not the fully animated ones, but the in game cutscenes. That was some weird crap man. Auron was a flan, and Yuna was a bird turned upside down.
