Borderlands, the final boss was probably the worst boss battle I have ever done.

All it is is stand behind a pillar and shoot at it when it isn't attacking, which would be fine if it didn't have enough health that I burned through all of my ammo on it.
Amen brother. I expected to fight something like the Iron Giant wearing a Raider Mask or something, not a giant vagina.

I'm just going to say the current console cycle. Todays games seem to be screwing us out of awsome final boss fights...or just boss fights period. Most of the time all you do is fight large waves of baddies. These days i'm seeing more and more final bosses boiled down to either QTE's or just a rendered movie.

Now i'm not saying all games these days get bosses wrong but ALOT are. Here's a few examples (WARINING, MILD SPOILERS AHEAD!)

Bio Shock: after hours of awsome story and atmosphere the game ends with you fighting a big purple guy with an attack pattern as perdicable as an early Mario boss.

Mearcanries 2: you run through a room and kill a handful of regular guards before doing a 30 QTE

Oblivion: you can argue and say that this was an epic boss fight except there was no boss. all you do is fight waves of regular enemies and protect an NPC long enough to get to the end of the level. It was cool looking but not really what i'd call a boss fight.

Halo 3: You kill a small robot and then go through a remixed version of the obstical course from the first Halo

Batman Arkham Asylum: you run away from mutant joker till he gets bored and calls in a wave of goons that you have to fight then you grapple joker back into the ring and repeat the cycle two more times.

Army of Two the 40th day: There is no last boss. you defeat one final room full of baddies and then you have a cenima where your treated to a shitty ending reguardless of what choice you make at the end.

Alan Wake: while the last area is cool looking and has an intresting gimic, all you do is walk from one end of the room to the other and fire two or three flares at a tornado

Bioshock 2: you dont' even get the shitty purple guy from the first game. all you do is fight off baddies for a few minutes and then shoot a couple of pipes.

I could go on but i won't. games these days are getting lazy when it comes to bosses. i'm tired of going through a really fun game only to fight off a few powered up grunts and then the game ends.

Have you ever had a game that was just so perfect in every way to be let down epicly by the the final battle, boss, etc.? Well I am wondering just that what game completely let you down when it came to the end?

Mine had to be a tie between Fallout 3's Colonel Autumn and The Force Unleashed Emperor
Get broken steel the endings btr
I did have broken steel and all i did was tell him that it was all over and he had no choice but to walk away and he did it

BioShock: Fontaine. It was stupid, easy and didn't satisfy anything.

Bioshocks Frank Fontaine.

I was so disapointed with the fight I had to compensate by observing that the entire game was good, despite the last boss.
Hmm it might have just been me but I kinda liked it, I mean you get to get your revenge over Andrew and many other people's deaths! It was satisfying for me, but I do have to say it was easy, but maybe that was because I was playing on easy :p.
No.... bioshock is just easy... it's easy even on hard mode.

Mass Effect... All that build up and then
I talked Saren to death! Then fighting the Sovereign-possessed Saren was even worse, because all I did was spammity spam spam him with bullets, and that was all I NEEDED to do.

It's even easier when you have two people, and one of them is the Sniper. Sniper shoots eyes, other person just keeps it attacking him, and you should be done in a 30 seconds.

The final boss in Mass Effect 2. It was seriously disappointing, and some of the things it did were simply ridiculous. I was not happy.
Yea, the boss had the complexity of a sandwich. Simple as hide here, wait, attack, repeat. Not rocket science. Not even first grade science. Hell, the IFF deserved to be the hardest part, and that's just because of all the husks.

Dead Space's final boss. This is the train of thought that went through my head:

[sub]HOLY FUCKING SHIT THAT THING IS MASSIVE.
I bet this will be a really hard boss...
Wow, his weak spots are really obvious
OH SHIT HE'S PICKING ME UP AND ABOUT TO EAT ME
Actually, getting out of that wasn't so hard
You know I've just noticed if I strafe left and right he never even hits me
Okay now I just have to finish hi...wait, what? He's dead?
Wow that was so fucking easy. Disappointing.[/sub]
