Shouldn't the title be Billy Joel Asks to Be in Rock Band 3 Out of Spite instead of what it is now? Or have I misread the article?

Anyways, this is cool. I do enjoy some Billy Joel.
My point exactly.

+1 Ninja-ing for me!

Hilarious.

I've never played a Rock Game, but this was great.
This is pretty damn awesome. I have to admit it. I love picturing that call. "Get me on Rock Band!"

Awesome! I demand "Piano Man" and "River of Dreams"! Also, I demand "Man I'll Never Be" From Boston, "Funeral For a Friend(Love Lies Bleedin')" By Elton John, and Several Songs by ELO!

He's a great artist and all, but now it basically looks like he looks down on gaming and music in gaming, but not when there is money to be made and/or someone to prove yourself to.

Hey, the more folks who get into gaming on any side of it, the better, in my opinion. It's easy to hate something those darned kids are into, it's harder when the man who many years ago you waited in line and in the rain to see perform live is involved. Every step forward shuts down a few more nay-sayers.

Some of the most important events in human history have occurred purely out of spite. The pilgrims colonized Plymouth Rock because they hated the Church of England. Neil Armstrong colonized space because he hated gravity.
I love this guy already.
Dont forget Alexander the Great's conquest of the east to piss off the greeks.
Plutarch's illustrious literary career stemmed from hatred of herodotus.
or Pope Vigilius who saved the catholic church just to stick it to Theodora

Kathleen de Vere was right, spite is the most powerful force in the universe

Way I see it, he's gonna have to try it when it comes out, and he might like it :)

As for Joel and Elton John, ELO and others mentioned here, I think most people like at least some of their stuff, it's just not 'cool' to say so, and also I think it's assumed that it's fairly good, inoffensive stuff.

Tell me this isn't feelgood:

As for Billy Joel not wanting his music in games, someone needs to tell this WOW guild:

On second thoughts no, last thing we need is more lawyers stamping out creativity on youtube, this kinda thing isn't easy to make and only ever gets made if someone has a genuine love for the original track and artist.
