Recently, news on the sequel to 2007's game of the year, Bioshock, was released, and personally, i think that it looks absolutely fantastic.
But, what are everyone's opinions on it?
Just to try and gather a general idea.

It looks like a good game, and its nice to see it try a new way of playing rather than making a game just like the first.

I like how they did a sequel and not a prequel. I also like the fact that you will be able to truly play as a big daddy this time. The Big Sister also looks like a worthy adversary, since she's like the anti-big daddy. It will be interesting to see Rapture ten years after the first game. The only worry I have is that because Andrew Ryan is gone, the game will lose some of its philosophy and intelligence.

Actually it is a sequel, it happens 10 years after the original. This can be seen by the fact that the Big Sister is one of the saved little sisters who went back to Rapture.

It actually is a sequel...

Anyways, I'm pumped. I just hope it delivers. Plus I want to drill some splicers.

I...am not sure yet. Maybe. My thinking was that if they were going to make a sequel, it would be set on land and one of the former Little Sisters would be the main character; that made a little more sense to me than another stay in Rapture. But, hey, I didn't think I'd like the first one as much as I did, so perhaps it'll work. (I probably won't sound the Bullshit Alarm until game number three, and only if they go to Rapture again, because the law of diminishing returns will almost certainly kick in at that point.) I'm definitely more interested in the new game than the movie, anyway.

Eh.....that is all. Well not it's not really,I don't think they should've returned to the Rapture, I think they should've gone to Vegas. Bioshock 2:Vegas!

Well maybe not Vegas but I think they could've tried harder than the Rapture.

Two minds. One is keen to get back to that grand 50's art deco style, and the other can't really get past the idea that as weapons go you're limited to the drill and rivet gun (as far as I'm aware).

But I'm definitely hoping it turns out well.

Getting chills from that Big Sister.
She moves and attacks in a way that chills me like no sissy old spider splicer ever will.

Nah, those are just the ones they've debuted so far.
I'm sure they've got plenty of new, inventive, highly intuitive, steampunk weaponry that you'll be able to add to your arsenal.
Plus, the drill more than compensates...(You seen the player rev that bad boy up and lunge into some sorry splicer's face to gouge a dinner plate-sized hole???)

Actually I read in game informer that you will be able to pick up a multitude of weapons, but the drill and rivet gun will be the most powerful. Im totally stoked about the new game, i loved the first one

Bioshock was one of those games that was so good that I'm buying the sequel regardless of anything else. The big question is PC or 360 for me but I'll probably 360 it. I played the entire first game on PC with a 360 controller anyway.

Now only if they're get it finished.

Big Sister looks fucking awesome.

It seems like they're trying to keep all the good things about the first game viable, as well as trying to improve on the few instances of mediocrity. Playing as a Big Daddy will certainly be interesting, especially with the new ability to combine plasmids and weapons. It looks like it will be as good as the original as of yet, and I'm definitely hopeful about it.
