Bioshock 2 Party Problems on 360

OK, small problem with partying up in Bioshock 2.

I send a party invite or receive a party invite but it won't let me connect and join the party, giving me some sort of connection error message, saying it can't connect.
Now, I'm not sure if it's a problem with my connection or what have you, but I've been in a party before with friends on MW2, Halo and also BS2 yesterday afternoon. It just seems to be a fickle *****[footnote]Oho, Sander Cohen quote! ...Kinda[/footnote] and not work at all.

So, does any one know why it's not allowing me to party up today?

UPDATE: Now it's refusing to let me party up at all. The hell is going on?

Yeah the multiplayer is a ball buster in Bioshock 2, taking ages to join games isnt my cup of tea, if it isn't your friends network connection problems, then the multiplayer is buggy

I've never had a problem with it, but I've heard quite a few complaints about it being shit.

If you continue to have problem, try joining a game first by yourself. If YOU can't connect to a game by yourself then it means you are having an internet problem.

Well that sucks majorly. Thanks for letting me know it might be the other persons network, however.
