Bioshock 2 reluctance

I have a problem.

First let me say I thoroughly enjoy Bioshock 2 - just last night I had a role in bringing about a 4-way melee between a rumbler, a brute, a big sister and 2 security bots. :D

However, and despite picking up my copy on launch day, I'm yet to make any sort of real dent in the singleplayer (still in Siren Alley). Why?

Because while I have a great time when I'm playing, I find myself very reluctant to start playing. While I was scrambling to jam ME2 or Darksiders (or even the orignial Bioshock) into the disk tray after work, I just can't seem to get excited about Bioshock 2.

So tell me: Has anyone else shared my position, or am I a genetically mutation?

As I should have mentioned in my first post, this is the first time I've had such an experience.

Quite strange.

I know what you mean - I finished it just now, but it never felt compelling to play at every available minute.

Now I'm trying to play the MP but there's some sort of bug where everything is on the lowest setting (I presume) despite everything being set to high.

I actually bought Bioshock 2 on day one. Then waited... and waited... for 4 days before I tried it. And it's great! Anyone who likes Bioshock 1 will like Bioshock 2. But.. I haven't gone back to it. So yeah, I know the feeling. Maybe because it's so heavy in story I need to be able to put a serious amount of time aside for it? It's not really a game you can play for a half an hour at a time and do it justice. But then again I marathon-ed ME2, and that is obviously the same idea (half hour at a time won't do it justice).

Nah I loved Bioshock 2, halfway through my second playthrough at the moment.

It's so hard not to get pulled back to a third ME2 run though... I'm enjoying my insanity playthrough...

Had the same problem with Borderlands. I couldn't get into it, it didn't pull me in, there was only 7 gus with about 2000 variations each, the guns themselves sucked, and I hated the ending.

I just couldn't get into it.

The whole thing is because, you subconsciously realized it's not that special, and that you can go at it, at any given/chosen time. It's a expansion after all, not a brand new game.

This can happen to me, too, on occasion.

I think it's best to just persevere, and you'll enjoy it. It happened to me with the first Sacred game, and I endured and loved it.
