Shouldn't they be called Big Mama's instead of big sisters? it just makes more sense that way, and still fit's in with the Big Daddy name.
That would make more sense, but then again we don't quite know what their origins are.

I just read Game Informer's website and they mentioned the fact that the cover says "Big Sister awaits your return to Rapture." It doesn't say Big Sisters, so maybe this'll be just one character that will make multiple appearances? They also said "Wait until you find out what happened to all the Big Daddies!"

Personally I'm hoping they include the design for the Big Daddy that never made it into the original game.

I think that the big sisters are going to add an increased element of strategy.
If you recall the Big Daddies were NEAR their little sisters but not always close enough to fully protect them. You could get to one and leave the big daddy wandering around looking around for his poor little sister the rest of the game. You didnt have to fight them all.. or any of them for that matter, and any combat that you did, was with the big daddy exclusively.

With the Big Sisters, if those are cages on it's back holding the little sisters, Then it means that the only way may be through direct confrontation, but instead of just breaking out all the stops and blowing the Big Sister away in an impressive display of fire power with your plasmids, you could potentially KILL the little sister in the process.. so tact may be required now, outsmarting and even disabling them to get to the little sister without killing her.

At least, thats my best guess...

Alright, now I want to know where Big Mommy comes in, and if she does, will she have a voice, and if so, will that voice be Martin Laurence? http://www.cinemablend.com/images/news_img/1809/1809.jpg

There's nothing to be dissapointed about yet, we don't know anything outside that it's maintaining the visual style of the first. I think we'll be okay.

Seriously, look at www.somethinginthesea.com
It'll make a lot more sense. Plus, this game seems to be set 7 years after the first one, so maybe any Little Sisters left alive became Big Sisters, donned their suits and started kidnapping girls all over the globe.

The creation of the Big Daddies and Little Sisters required, as I recall, a fair bit of effort on the part of Ryan's scientists, and presumably the creation of a new breed of "Big" would take similar work. But Ryan and Fontaine are dead and Rapture, when last seen, was collapsing into anarchy. The only one left (that we know of) who might have the technical chops to make this happen is Tennenbaum but her commitment to setting the Little Sisters free is at odds with the idea of kidnapping them for reasons unknown.

So... what's next?
Don't quote me on this but from what I have heard multiple times before, is that it's going to be a prequel.

You're thinking into it too much at this point...

I really don't expect the Big Daddy to be phased out completely. In fact, you point out that the Big Daddy was actually a somewhat tragic villain last game. I think it is relatively easy to envision a slight reversal of roles for the next game.
